You and some of your Herd friends are very frustrated at your poor introduction to our lovely conference, but there is no need to be a khundt about this stuff.

it just seems like a very one-sided conclusion... suspend the best player on a pretty bad NDSU team, but no punishment for the player who provoked it, or the quarterback at flipped off the ndsu fans, or the two uni players who jumped in throwing punches on the sidelines...
Jeezus, TT, they're playing ball in Hogjowl, Iowa, and you expect class? You're lucky if they don't hump your pets and crap on your lawn.

as for pat grace, i dont know if you suspend him, but starting in with the crowd is what earned LaGarrett Blount a yearlong suspension at Oregon, these are orders of magnitude different, i understand that, but the idea that nothing is said publicly about it bugs me.

Like Saluki fans can comment on that. One you get off the interstate outside of St. Louis to head south to Carbondale you see less houses and more trailers, and less teeth and more staring. Re: Pat Paschall suspended by the Valley
Twin Towers Bison is correct. The suspension is not even handed, the officiating was terrible and certainly not up to the level some think this league is at. The # of flags was out of hand and the the impact of those penalties were devastating for NDSU and mildly annoying for UNI.
But, in the end it is what it is. So what if UNI is classless and Grace is profane and cant control himself? So what if a UNI defender clearly tried to injure Pat Paschall by driving him 15 yds into a brick wall and then doesnt even draw a penalty for it? So what if UNI fans can say "So what we won. Stop your whinning?"
Ive seen enough of this bush league officiating to last some time. I think its an issue that has to be brought up at the league meetings. This league cant afford to continue with officials that are so clearly unqualified to call a game.
What they did was give a green light for UNI to act as they did. That assures the rest of the league they will continue to play what I consider to be less than clean football. They also have displayed a strong bias against NDSU. When you cant find the penalties on the film you have a problem.

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Thats just it. There is no way a league should allow that kind of officiating. Its a serious issue. NDSU has no resentment for the league, but the fact that we are in the league will hopefully lead to changes for the better. This is an issue the league has to deal with. We cant take pride, or resign ourselves to terrible officiating that is not even handed.houndawg wrote:It's not just the Bison, so don't feel special. On the replay I saw a penalty flag, that should have been the end of it for a smart player, an extra 15 and 1st down. The penalty was not called on the UNI thug.
But, it doesnt stop there:
Now, in harmony with our President winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Montana's Chase Reynolds is averaging 80.0 yards/game and is 44th in the country and is on the Payton watch list! So are other undeserving backs, but the best in that nation, Pat Paschall, is not. He is the only back to face the top teams in the country, is at the statistical top and has been snubbed.

Really? Then who was that first personal foul called on?JBB wrote:The penalty was not called on the UNI thug.
The way I saw it was:
1) flag thrown on the NDSU quarterback for illegal forward pass
2) flag thrown on the UNI defender for continuing contact out-of-bounds
3) personal foul called on the NDSU runningback for taking a swing at the UNI player

Paschall is good and might be on the list if he scored once in a while, but he has pretty much run where the blocking has taken him, Karim has another gear and can break one on any play.

The UNI player was never penalized. There were two unsportsmanlike penalties for the altercation that happened on the Bison sideline. The officials never penalized the player for the late hit out of bounds.
Who said Karim doesnt belong on the list? Im saying Paschall deserves to be on the list. Trying to make an argument that he doesnt simply exposes the list for what it is.

If Paschall is Payton Award material why are the Bison 1-5? I'm not saying he isn't good enough, just saying there are lots of good running backs out there who aren't on the list. Saying he is the best RB in the nation is just hype.
