That's the shortest defense of your quittertude that you have ever made, Tanks. Usually it is this long, defensive biographical diatribe of how you just decided to waste a year or two of your life in a school that has no other purpose other than to matriculate kids into West Point.

Nobody believes you, because your magnetic attraction to threads that are derogatory about The Citadel belie your insecurity about and hostility towards those characteristics of military schools that caused you to wet your pants and question your own ability to complete anything you start.

If gays have fag hags, the The Citadel has Franks Tanks.

Run-on sentance. sue me.

I of cousre attended West Point Prep with the intention of attending West Point. However, decided it wasnt for me just like 40% of my peers that also attended. I decided to not pursue admission to West Point when my commitment at the prep school was over.

Also Citadel is not a "military school" in the true sense as it has no connection whatsoever with the US Military. No stronger conncetion that is than any other school with an active ROTC program.

I have a lot of respect for the military and those who have served, but I find the behavior of Citadel folks stragely fascinating .

Did you servve in the mililtary?? If so congrats for your service. However, if I recall I believe you said you were a local cop--please dont give me a parking tickett officer.

However, The Citadel is not a United States Military Academy and as you know a Citadel cadet is not obligated to serve. You guys are so insecure.

...a VMI-wannabe?
As of 2006, VMI has graduated 265 General Officers and Flag Officers, more than any other college in the United States, except for West Point and Annapolis.[55][56] Among its most distinguished military alumni are the first five-star General of the Army, George Marshall;[57] seven recipients of the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government, the Medal of Honor;[58] and nine four-star generals, again, more than any other college in the United States excluding the federal service academies. VMI offers ROTC programs for all four US military branches.[59] While four years of ROTC is a requirement for all cadets, accepting a commission in the armed forces is optional. The VMI Board of Visitors has set a goal of having 70 percent of VMI cadets take a commission by 2015.[60] The VMI class of 2008 achieved a 52.8 percent commissioning rate.[38] Of the total of 127 cadets who commissioned in 2008, 63 commissioned in the Army, 11 commissioned in the Navy, 26 commissioned in the Marine Corps, and 27 commissioned in the Air Force.[61]

The table below lists all United States Generals (four-star) who graduated from VMI (The table does not include four-star Alumni of the Institute who attended VMI but graduated elsewhere, such as Generals Patton and Walker. Nor does the table include the many graduates of VMI who attained the rank of four star general in military service to foreign nations such as Thailand, China, and Taiwan):

FT, seriously, you need to stop the bleeding. Every time I whack you on AGS my rep goes up 100 points. Everyone sees right through you.

I am not ashamed of anything I have done, nor am I ashamed of any of my life decisions. That is why I will not under normal circumstances explain my life history to you, because (1) you do not rate it, and (2) I could care less what people on a message board think of me personally. Especially someone who everyone on this message board thinks is lashing out at The Citadel out of petulance and sour grapes. Your ONLY dog in this fight is the fact that you spent two years in a military prep school for naught. You use the same old tired explanation and everybody just giggles at you , Nancy.

However, since you asked a direct question I will answer you.

I graduated from The Citadel. All the while I was in college, I was also in the US Navy Reserves (paying my way through school since I chose not to go the USNA). After graduation, I remained in the U.S. Navy and the reserves until I resigned in 1995. I was a police officer from 1992 until six months ago. In 2004 and 2005 I was in Baghdad training the Iraqi police while being bombed and shot at on several different occasions. I also spent some time overseas doing a few other things. One thing is for sure, I didn't waste taxpayer money going to a prep school for two years to decide if I could hack West Point. BTW- most of those 40% guys don't enter the USMA because they don't have the grades or they can't hack it. That's why they (and you) were at West Point Prep to begin with.

I now work for the State Department. So, my entire life has been spent in some kind of public service. THAT is the Citizen Soldier concept. It is the concept embraced by The Citadel and VMI. Your superior attitude evidenced by your virtual jock sniffing on all threads involving El Cid as well as your snide comment about my career in law enforcement belie your insecurity about having done, well, nothing. You understand nothing about VMI or The Citadel OR the citizen soldier because in your world, the only true military academies are the ones run by that wonderfully efficient model of bureaucracy, the Federal Government. Your own words betray your extremely light knowledge of much of anything having to do with military schools. In fact, since you DIDN'T even go to West Point, I would argue that you're not much of an authority on that, either.

As for the behavior you find fascinating, I would submit to you that the only thing you find fascinating is the testicles that swing between the legs of all VMI, The Citadel, West Point, USNA and USAFA graduates who actually decided to matriculate rather than take two years in prep school to realize they weren't up to it.

Think about it Tanks... the biggest, most important decision you ever made in your life was to NOT go to West Point. You decided to take the road MORE traveled, and for you, that has made all the difference.

Citdog, Arsenio Domingo was actually a CPD police officer on the same mission I was on. He was killed in Mosul. You know? One of those police officers who FT thinks are somehow lesser men than he.

I was a recruited athlete and therefore was directed to West Point Prep. Yes my HS class rank was a bit medicore because I went to a competitive HS, and most athletes go to the Prep. Check the Army football roster and you will see 1/2 to 2/3 of the team with USMAPS next to their name. I attended for one year and was offerd admission to West Point-- I decided it wasnt for me. I didnt quit or resign or anything I completed one year of Prep school and choose not to accept my appopintment to West Point.

This is all. I have no contempt for West Point of the US military. I believe West Point is a wonderful place and I respect all those that serve in our armed forces. I appreciate your service to our country.

Whenever I talk smack on The Citadel I get banged on for degarding the military. However, that has never happened and one can make fun of the Citadel and no the US Military as they are two seperate entities.

One again I appreciate your service to the USA, but I still reserve the right to make fun of cadets who make a 19 year old girl cry by screaming in her face (per the video)

Nobody has claimed that you have 'degarded' the military. I claim that you have a stick up your ass about The Citadel. Applause to you.

Likewise, nobody has claimed that The Citadel is in any way a representative, ward, or beneficiary of the Federal Government. You have inserted that into the argument in order to legitimize what is actually just a middle-aged temper tantrum. According to you, The Citadel is same-same Notre Dame where the military is concerned. Fine on ya. We have nothing to prove to you.

Your defense of little girls is admirable. However, those poor girls (whom you did not witness) were adult members of a band that chose to goose-step and Nazi salute their way down the Avenue of Remembrance. The reaction of the Corps was what the Princeton band intended. They would have received the same welcome at West Point, that is, if the Princeton Band was allowed to actually go to West Point, which they are not. That being said, nobody believes you when you say your ire is due to the hurt feewings of a nineteen year old member of an Ivy scramble band in an incident that occurred over a year ago. Poor Tanks... carrying the torch for some smelly granolas who have already gotten over it. Yep. Totally believable.

If you want something to be mad about, look to the girls chained to the urinals in Bancroft Hall at the USNA, or the numerous sexual assaults at the Air Force Academy. You know? Those reputable federally-run institutions. Then again, maybe you ARE sniffing jocks on their message boards for all I know.

Perhaps the stupid Princeton band incident was discussed for too long. I am guilty for brining it up, its just so hard not to because all you guys fly off the handle at its mere mention. Its stupid and over and not worth talking about. Youe assement and what you think you know about me is wrong, and you feel my assesmnet of The Citadel is wrong--fair enough.. leeave it there and move on.

OK- I'll stop trolling threads about your college and taking cheap shots.

I don't think I'm the one who needs to 'move on'.
