Maybe a little high but they did just as well as Syracuse and East Carolina against W.Virginia and played well against JMU. Beat North Carolina Central by as much as App and beat Lafayette so I don't think it is horrible. I could have them below the Hens and maybe they will be if they lose to Coastal.89Hen wrote:Everything else looks great, but Liberty at 15?putter wrote:15. Liberty

You should vote on how the team is performing not how good they could or can be. If I was to vote based on how good I thought a team was or could be or based on talent I'd have Weber State at #1. But voting on how they are actually playing I still don't have them in the top 15.

It's pretty easy Hen. Just go to this link and select the drop downs to place the teams in the spots you want them. Hope you can put a vote in next week.89Hen wrote:I registered, but didn't bother to look how to actually vote.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Hen, are you voting in this poll?

You just have to make sure that you have an email address in there so they can contact you in case you leave one spot blank or something.

Hens are irrelevant in the convo. Liberty's marquis victory is Lafayette and the loss to JMU alone should knock them down in everyone's book.putter wrote:Maybe a little high but they did just as well as Syracuse and East Carolina against W.Virginia and played well against JMU. Sorry. They're just on my fringe....but beating up on that conference doesn't impress me much.JSUrules wrote:Hey AZGrizFan,
Your poll is the first one that I've seen that doesn't even include Jacksonville State. Is this an oversight or did you have some reason for being the only person I've seen that totally ignores them? Let's review their record:
game 1: vs FBS ranked GA Tech loss 37-17 (with their 2nd string QB)
game 2: vs FBS (preseason ranked-don't remember at time of game) FL State 19-9
with note FL State was behind until the last 35 seconds of the game
game 3: win AL A&M 45-13
game 4: win Nicholls State 60-10
game 5: win Univ of TN-Martin 52-7
game 6: win Murray State 41-7
QB Ryan Perriloux is ranked top in Passing Efficiency among both FBS and FCS teams
Just don't understand your rationale for not even putting them in the Top 25????

Chattanooga in and no Furman. Not that I think Furman should be in but the only difference between FU and Chatts record is that Chatt beat a DII school and FU lost to Missouri. Oh yeah and FU beat Chat by 18 points

No doubt. When I started on AGS I just thought I'd sit back for a month or so to see what everyone's gimmick was and then start debating them. I was not nearly as entertaining as those that fall for it though.wideright82 wrote:EWURanger wrote:

Colgate - Undefeated, outstanding running attack, decent passing game, improved defense over last year's PL champs. Greg Sullivan is one of the best dual-threat QBs in FCS.
Montana St. - Weber win now looks like a fluke. No real playmakers on offense other than arguably Mason. Suspect pass defense (gave up 400+ yards passing to Dixie State). Couldn't beat a dome team at home in 20 degree weather.
PVAMU - A little more speculative, but they beat Grambling & nearly beat New Mexico State. Grambling win makes them the de facto favorite to win the SWAC (Southern has been a disappointment & the East Division sucks).
EWU - Not sold on them after last week. Suspect defense, particularly with Zach Johnson missing the whole season. Can Taiwan Jones keep up the pace after a hot start?
Holy Cross - Similar team to EWU, but I think Randolph is a better QB than Nichols. Brown loss was surprising (HC beat Harvard & Harvard beat Brown), but they're good enough to beat Colgate & win the PL.
NAU - Herrick has been a surprise, but the pass defense has been almost nonexistent. They're quite lucky they're up against Kavanaugh & not Hubel this week. I think they played a little above their station against Montana.

Colgate. Easy to put up stats when you are playing the 91st, 56th, 96th, 79th, 62nd and 94th worst teams in FCS.
Gotta look at who they are playing.

Maybe if this CS poll came out quicker, your panties wouldn't get twisted so tight. I say this assuming that the CS poll will have NAU around where I put them in the top 20. Seeing as the CS poll is now known as the the DJ poll.

We have to wait til 14 November for a showdown between the Lumberjacks and the Wildcats in Ogden, and the 'jacks don't host the Eagles until the final game of the regular season.dbackjon wrote:...As for NAU vs other Big Sky? Still a toss up, IMHO - especially 2-5. NAU beat MSU who beat Weber who beat EWU. Those are the only games involving those 4 teams. Only NAU has played Montana so far, and did quite well. Plenty of time to sort that out.
Meanwhile the Eagles host the Bobcats on 24 October and Weber heads to Missoula on Halloween, but the Bobcats don't host the Griz until the final game of the regular season.

Uh, good for the GPI? I've never put much stock in that or most of the things that go into it. The GPI also has North Dakota 28th. Would anyone seriously put the Sioux that high? It additionally has dismal Idaho State above teams with winning records just because they played Oklahoma & Arizona State (does anyone think ISU is better than Dayton or Old Dominion?). Also odd is that a western football fan would use the GPI when it has 6 CAA teams in the top 12.native wrote:

Half of the GPI is poll rankings. The rest is computer rankings. Computer rankings are good for college basketball where everyone plays 30 games, but college football doesn't have enough games or—in particular—enough games against comparable non-conference opponents to get any sort of accurate picture.
