Hampton stat question

Post by clenz »

I was looking at some stats on ESPN and looked at the team defensive stats, and Hampton has 716 tackles already this year?

Second place is ODU with 305, then SFA with 235.

Can someone explain this to me. Has Hampton really faced that many plays?

I think it has to include all the guys in on a play because according to the NCAA stats they have faced 300 plays

Lots of gang tackling going on? :?

Something is certainly screwed up. I can understand ODU being high on the list because OUR DEFENSE CAN'T GET OFF THE FIELD. Fordham ran something like 93 plays against us.

I was confused because UNI only seems to have 80 tackles...but faced 80+ plays Saturday

There are no tackles on incomplete passes or when a runner goes out of bounds. If a team throws a bunch of incomplete passes the opportunity to make tackes is severly reduced. However, this list seems inaccurate.

That I get but looking at UNI's tackle stats from Saturday something is way wrong.

Either UNI people can't keep stats or ESPN is way off

Espn is off. I went to sacks at it had Lafayette listed as having like 4 sacks, we had 4 in one game against Yale so their stats are terrible
