HI54 - no, i'm calling it a "run it up touchdown" because it would serve to make the game look like more of a blowout than it was... however, with the bison answering late... it's moot.

not to nit-pick, but the turning point in the game was a bullshit PI call against NDSU that kept a UNI drive alive and ended up as a TD... that said... up til then NDSU had left 13-17 points on the field...houndawg wrote:I keep telling you Bisonistas that you have to bring it every play in the MVC, that one play you slack off just the tiniest little bit is the one that goes for six on you.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:Touchdown UNI with 5 to go 35-20... Playing away, anywhere is tough, especially at the Dakota schools who are always tough regardless of their records. That being said, YOU ARE MAKING AN ASS OUT OF YOURSELF, arguing that you played well or worse, should have won the game! - especially when you got 42 tagged on you at home.
Just shut up and move on. Just some advices.

You may not have agreed with the PI call, but there was bad calls all day long ( and plenty of them). Including a call that was just flat out wrong, when the NDSU reciever didn't come down in bounds, but they gave them the catch and the long gain. That led to points for the Bison.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:not to nit-pick, but the turning point in the game was a bullshit PI call against NDSU that kept a UNI drive alive and ended up as a TD... that said... up til then NDSU had left 13-17 points on the field...houndawg wrote:

as far as the refs, you'll get no disagreement from me - they were terrible, bad calls both ways, ticky tack bullshit all day... so it stands to reason that what turned this game for good (and frankly it was going to be this or something else) was the PI call.DJH wrote:You may not have agreed with the PI call, but there was bad calls all day long ( and plenty of them). and D... i played - i'm aware of how chippy games can get - i stand by my comments about the UNI qb and d-back... they were unnecessary, and frankly beneath the #3 team in the country (especially playing a surprisingly game 1-4 squad) i believe the term my coaches used when i played was "act like ya been there before"

Yet, TTFB, fails to mention the two fucking punches thrown by the NDSU bench...including the one by Paschall.
NDSU was just as fucking classless as UNI...way to throw shit in at the UNI bench...fucking douchebags.
Oh, and Fort didn't throw a punch he just rode him out of bounds.

Re: UNI Panthers @ NDSU BISON*
never said fort threw a punch - i said he tried to push Paschall in to the wall - Paschall responded with a swing and the Bison bench stood up for their guy... hardly surprising... my point was that the game wasn't really in doubt at that point - it seemed needless and petty and provocative to try and send NDSU's best player in to the wall - the play was over.clenz wrote:Yet, TTFB, fails to mention the two fucking punches thrown by the NDSU bench...including the one by Paschall.

As for throwing things at the UNI bench - I never saw that, which is not to deny that it happened - I'm pretty sure it did - however it happened AFTER the UNI quarterback ran up and down the sideline taunting the fans after a touchdown...

TOTAL OFFENSE YARDS ....395....514
I looked like NDSU literally dominated in all of the offensive categories. Was field position a big thing here? What happened with the score?
Missed opportunities for NDSU and not capitalizing on key plays is what did them in.

Your last sentence said it all. 2 missed FGs, 2 INTs really hurt. The penalties were high, but even for both teams. The refs really didn't blow too many, they just called an extremely tight game.

PP did throw one as soon he was let go of from the UNI player next to the wall/bench he pushed him into.
#18 and #27 from UNI both followed into the pack and threw jabs on their own, followed by #4 from NDSU. Ugly point in a hard fought game.
That's at least how I saw it live and at home on the DVR

From the sounds of it, I bet most teams' fans would be tempted. Was there a penalty for this? Or just a warning?

I was expecting a better defense from UNI, simply not the great team UNI fans have been portraiting. Better than Michigan though, as the Wolverines lost to Iowa by 2.D1B wrote:42 points scored on NDSU. Game over.

Michigan didn't play well enough to win...then again Iowa really didn't either.
Look at those stats all you want, NDSU lost...and it wasn't really that close. It was a 22 point win until NDSU scored in the final seconds.
This was by far the worst game UNI had played since probably Delaware in 2007 and they still won by 17.

I was a little surprised that you scored any offensive TDs at all after being held to one by SIU, and UNIs defense being generally acknowledged as the best in the conference. That said I think both SIU and UNI were sluggish against bottom-tier opponents (or mid-tier in ISU's case) because they were looking past them to the big game next week.Gil Dobie wrote:I was expecting a better defense from UNI, simply not the great team UNI fans have been portraiting.
