Maine wins 16-14.

Ended up being a nailbiter. Both teams played better as the game went on, but neither team is close to being a Top 25 squad.

MJ, congrats on the win. This was the worst offensive performance by a Hofstra team that i think i have ever seen in the 20 years that i have been associated with the program. 7 friggin' turnovers, absolute disgrace. How the hell we managed 32 first downs to 11 for Maine, put up over 500 yards of offense to 311 for Maine and all we could manage is 14 friggin points. It's laughable.

I didn't think this was a playoff team (Hofstra), but the playcalling and lack of execution when it matters clearly shows that our coaches are not getting this team prepared. Only our defense played halfway decent. Other than that, an ugly ugly game.

With 7 turnovers, you have to think that there is no possible way to rack up 500+ yards, 293 of which came on the ground! Our defense basically held all day long, but it was like they were playing against the 11 on Maine's offense and the 11 on their own offense. The more i look at the stats, the more i can't fathom how we lost this game, or better yet, only scored 14 points. Sheesh, it's sickening.

Seven turnovers is probably the only stat that mattered.

Without a doubt. But we ran the ball for almost 300 yards and then go away from the run when we get in position to score points. I don't care what anyone says, i have been harping on it all season. We start our second best QB and the playcalling turns to $hit any time it looks like we can put points on the board. I just feel bad for the defense who kept us in the game even with seven turnovers, we still had a shot to win and we blew it, twice.
