Thorpe, while very talented, is clearly not ready to lead this team. Down like that, you should go with experience which is not Justin. I feel like with all our comebacks last year, Mickey had always gotten the exception to the rule of we screw ourselves with turnovers. Well, that's back now. Offensive pass interference, a defense that can't stop the run, I expected us to be a bubble team and lose 3-4 along the way, but not to Hofstra. It was a disgrace, as my friend Didier Drogba would say:

Me neither, but after getting kicked in the teeth by Hofstra and having to face Richmond and Nova the next two weeks... I'm not expecting much, especially since Richmond has been sitting idle this past week. We'll see how Nova holds up against UNH next week.

16-20 would be my guess... possibly worse... but that's the pessimist in me.

I drop them mid-teens, maybe lower depending on how others do. But this was a good while coming. We won against VMI, but generally looked poor and the game could have been much worse. We didn't look good against Liberty, but that could be chalked up to the monsoon.

In fairness to Hofstra, Phil Steele had them ranked 6-7 preseason if I remember right based mostly on their defense. Didn't show it all against Richmond, but they came to play today. They earned it

I'm the only one posting over at JMUsports.net and I definitely haven't started a "Fire Durden" thread or blamed it on anything (besides the rain). JMU can still get good work done, we'll just have to see how they do the rest of the season with their schedule....
