I honestly can't decide if I should read your post any further than this. Andy Hall was Tubby guy? Shawn Johnson was Tubby guy? David Boler was a Tubby guy? Tubby left the cupboard bare when he left. You KNOW this, why would you state otherwise?

Three transfers don't make a Championship team, if that was the case KC would be a Chattanooga EVERY year. KC took those outstanding transfers and blended them with all of Tubby's players to make a championship team. I give him full credit for that.. but the cupboard was hardly bare.. the '03 OL was tremendous as were the RBs and the entire defense.. which was bolstered by KC's one outstanding transfer (Johnson). Again 1 guy out of 11.

But please address the question.. how has KC done since he began recruting his own players? Tubby's last recruting class was in '02 and KC's first was in '03.. so by '05 the program was pretty much populated by KC's guys. Since then KC has gone:

'05 - 6-5
'06 - 5-6
'07- 11-4
'08 - 4-8

'09 - maybe 5 or 6 wins if we are lucky... that lone good year doesn't nearly offset the four very poor ones in my book.. but to each his own.

I thought (according to 89Hen) that THIS is what proved the superiority of East Coast football....the mere fact that a team could NOT (like Montana) dominate their conference every year....that it was IMPOSSIBLE to go years without a "down" season....

You need to make up your mind as to what is a mediocre and bad season. You put 7-4 as a good season and now 6-5 as a bad season. Pretty narrow definition there IMO.

Tubby's 4-7 season with a loss to West Chester isn't as bad as 4-8?
