Looks reasonable. I do think the Northerns game will be a little closer

Why? Post-Griz letdown?

It's a home game at 7,000 feet, for goodness' sake!

Weber 25-13. I just don't see the Kitties beating anyone in the upper echelon this year.

Sac 31-28. We've got to break out of this blue funk SOMETIME. Even Detroit did.

EWU 72-0. If the Eagles can get 50-someodd on a team that almost took down a minor FBS, surely they'll do better against a team that lost to a D-II.

NAU 45-24. I think UNC is going to do better this week, but it's going to take a bit more to actually win.

Cats looked good against the Bears....don't know if that is good or bad but this is a much more potent O they will be facing. Webs 38 Cats 21

Portland played much better after playing the Griz than they have in years past...Elvis' 35 Sac 31

ISU performance against CWU was surprising (kind of) so this will get ugly Eags 48 Ben-gals 10

NAU showed me a lot with Herrick and I don't think their D will be challenged by UNC . Only question would be a Griz hangover... NAU 35 Cubs 20

I see Scream jumped the gun on this. That's fine, I need all the help I can get. 25-1 going into this week, but the games are getting tough. One thing for sure, the Griz will not win this week (won't even be close), but unfortunately they won't lose either (they have a bye). Everyone else plays in four conference games this week. This week's predictions.

EWU @ ISU---After entertaining Central Washington last week, the Bengals welcome conference foe Eastern Washington Eagles. The Eagles took their conference game last week also on the road against Sacramento State. The Eagles have already had a road win, the Bengals still trying to get any win...EWU 34, ISU 17.

MSU @ WSU---The Bobcat defense arrived for the game at Northern Colorado last week, keeping the Bears offense in check. The Wildcats started celebrating their win against Portland State a little premature, but still got the win. What the Wildcats gave up really did not have to do with the defense (kickoff return for a touchdown, an INT returned for a touchdown). Bobcats are starting to have a great defense, will the offense get going?...WSU 30, MSU 10.

UNC @ NAU---Last week the Jacks took mighty Montana to overtime before succumbing to defeat. The Jacks are showing they have a great offense, but the defense is a little shaky. May be more to do with whom they played. The Bears have shown they have a great defense. Problem is, they don't have an offense...NAU 27, UNC 7.

Sac State @ PSU---The Hornets spotted Eastern Washington a huge lead at the half, then played the Eagles even in the second half. The Vikings rallied to take the lead last week against powerful Weber State, before they bowed out at the very end. Have the Hornets found their offense? Have the Vikings found a way to shut a team down?...PSU 52, Sac State 42.

I do like Jalmond starting the Big Sky rankings and prediction threads. His analysis have been good and he is not quite the homer he used to be. Good job Jalmond. :thumb:

Montana State 17 @ Weber State 24 MSU still improving from the first two games, but not enough overtake BBQ, but this just may be MSU's only Big Sky loss this year.

Sacramento State 21 @ Portland State 35 PSU is gaining confidence after coming close to beating BBQ.

Eastern Washington 38 @ Idaho State 13 EWU takes out the starters in the 4th and ISU gets a few scores.

Northern Colorado 10 @ Northern Arizona 35 NC offense has been offensive to the NC fans, but they do manage to score at Flagstaff, but not enough.

BYE 0 @ Montana 0 and 500 Griz fans show up to watch the game @ WG.

I like Jalmond heading things off as well, he's been doing it for a couple years now and I enjoy reading his rankings and game projections, even if I don't agree. :) ;)

Thank you for the complement. I do try to keep the rankings and predictions objective (I try to "guess" right on every game and I realize that PSU is not going to go undefeated). Although I do turn into a PSU fan when discussing games and things like that.

Your guessing's good, your homering not really obvious. It's reasonable to expect PSU to win this one (pace SuperHornet); Hubel is at the top of the conference in passing, and our running's better, though at best average. As everyone in the league knows, we haven't been able to finish drives. That may or may not continue; we'll just have to see. Since Sac seems to be weak on running defense, I expect we'll at least try in that direction. We do play a lot of freshmen, and that may show on the line (though we've had only two sacks in three games). Given the freshmen, we'll continue to have penalty problems. We don't fumble much, but when we do we give away the game. It will be a messy game, but in the end, PSU 42 Sac State 21.

I normally don't do this, but all y'all who predicted a PSU blowout win out of spite, UP YOURS.

(This does not apply to guys like frinq who actually used some logic. Too bad for him it didn't work out.)

I was really impressed with the Hornets today. I actually predicted a shootout. I knew about our defense, but I totally underestimated the Hornet defense. It looks like Montana State turned a corner, but I think Sacramento State also turned a corner today.

Go ahead and boast, SH. You deserve it, the way your guys played today. Good luck the rest of the year. :thumb:

And PSU didn't shut down Sac's feature back, Dailey. 100+ yards.

PSU did not shut anyone down at all.

Correct Pick
Incorrect Pick
Actual Score
(-123) = Difference between predicted and actual point spread
APSE = Average Point Spread Error
_________________________________________________

Montana State 17 vs. Weber State 31
Montana State 26 vs. Weber State 21 (-19)

Sac State 24 vs. Portland State 35
Sac State 31 vs. Portland State 14 (-28)

Eastern Washington 45 vs. Idaho State 17
Eastern Washington 38 vs. Idaho State 3 (-7)

Northern Colorado 10 vs. Northern Arizona 35
Northern Colorado 27 vs. Northern Arizona 35 (-17)

_________________________________________________

This week: 2-2
Last week: 4-1
Overall: 26-4
APSE this week: 17.8 pts
APSE last week: 9.6 pts
APSE overall: 12.5 pts

A couple surprising upsets this week, with MSU stopping Weber on downs to secure a win in Ogden, and Sac State rising up and shocking PSU at home in Portland. UNC certainly put a scare in NAU, but the Jacks escape as the only home team to win this week.

I ended up 2-2 as well, brings me to 27-3 for the year. I hate when I predict shootouts, the defenses come up big (well, Sacramento State's defense anyway).

Now watch this be the Bobcats only Big Sky win. :)

edit: They now have two BSC wins, so only one Big Sky win is not possible.
