Quarterback Watch

Post by CatMom »

While everyone here routinely hawks their QB's and Lord knows we hear about Edwards and Higgins all the time, Brad George is quietly moving up the all time SLC record standings. I am going to keep track of just a couple or so of those records as the year progresses. Remember he has not been the starter for every game in his 4 yrs and was pulled a few times

He started the 09 season

#10 all time passing yds at 6435
2 games - 527 yds moves him to 7th place (6962)

# 5 total TD's @ 53
4 so far - 57 Keeps him in 5th. Needs 62 to move into 4th

UCA's Brown has the records for both but, if I recall correctly, they weren't DI his freshman year. I'll have to check that as this is their 4th year in transition. (or maybe he was only there 3 yrs)

Anyone else want to do the same for their QB? Please do so.

Without a doubt for SUU Cade Cooper is proving that he is as good as advertised so far this year. After a rough game against SDSU where he still nearly led a come from behind win he lit up the scoreboard in Flagstaff (but our D couldnt do anything! ). So far this year his stats are:

64/96 for 769 yds, 7 Tds, 3Ints. A 66.7% completion ratio, an average of 8.01 yards a catch and an overall QB rating of 151.8 This senior has alot left in him and i cant wait for the rest of the season :thumb: .

He started the 09 season #10 all time passing yds at 6435

3 games - 852 yds moves him to 5th place (7287*)
Last night he passed Barrick Nealy (of 2005 fame) to become TXST's all time passer

# 5 total TD's @ 53
6 so far - 59 Keeps him in 5th. Needs 62 to move into 4th **

In the SLC Media Guide the first and second place record holders in passing DID NOT PLAY THEIR ENTIRE CAREERS IN THE SLC. So I can be pissy and say he is actually 3rd all time in the SLC

Next move up is 500+ more yards.

** this has the same issue as the passing record

(*note - more attempts but 5 less games than A. Edwards and only 243 yds diff - which amazed me)
