I have been reading the differents posts for a number of months now. I thought that I would join in the fun.
I am a 1976 graduate and fan of the current National Champion University of Richmond Spiders. Of course I would love for UR to repeat as FCS National Champs. However the chances of this happening are very small since Richmond is only the second private university to win the title. The other private school that has won the title is Furman University back in 1988. :nod: :nod:

In fact, I have a Richmond question for you...

I just purchased my ticket for the UMass/Spiders match, and I asked the lady at the ticket office where the tailgating is at the Stadium...

The only thing she said was "as long as you don't take up more than one parking space, you can tailgate at your own risk anywhere"

When I tried to get more info from her, she repeated the same statement...as if it is from a script...

I've driven by Richmond before, but never been to a game there....so What's Up with Tailgating at Richmond?

I am not much help when it comes to answering questions about tailgating at Richmond home games. In fact it has been a number of years since I attended a Richmond home game. I do not live in Richmond. I have attended a couple of UR/JMU "battles" at Harrisonburg! I hope to get to a couple of UR home games this year, espically since this is the last year that Richmond will play in the stadium that it has used as a "home" since 1929! I am looking forward to the on campus stadium opening in 2010! I just wish it would have a larger capacity....8700 is, I believe, too small. Oh well, at least playing on campus will generate greater attendance by the UR students.I love the Spiders and I wish them well :nod: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :nod:

Hey Col, pour the beer in a cup and keep the cans and bottles out of sight. Foot patrol walking around. You shouldn't have any problems, they aren't looking to bust guys like you. It's the young whipper-snappers they are after. :)

Two similar trends, every 20 years a private school wins the NC and every 20 years FU plays Delaware :?
