My testimony before Congress was used as a dog whistle to incite anti-abortion hate

Less than an hour from when I walked out of Congress, my phone began lighting up with emails and social media alerts (and urgent messages from security teams tracking them). Scores of the messages and posts said: You are a bitch. A whore. Slurs that can’t be published. Some questioned whether I can still be “aborted” and then answered, “I think she can.” They said things like, “this is why firing squads are back.” They asked one another where I work. They hypothesized that I am infertile and that I hate children. They said they should “exact vengeance,” that I will burn in hell, that I am Satan, that I am evil.

In less than 24 hours, I saw from the alerts and my inbox tally that I had received or been mentioned in hundreds of thousands of ugly, abusive comments.

Gill and the others who are fiercely committed to politicizing and restricting this critical form of healthcare didn’t want to hear any of that. Instead, they used a hearing about safety to sound a dog whistle to the far right to unleash their misogyny, vitriol and hatred. Which they did.

I also want to be clear that this is right out of the extremist playbook. My colleague Cynthia Miller-Idriss has documented how gendered hate speech and slurs are misogynistic tactics of containment designed to induce fear and shrink women — and that such speech can escalate to physical violence.

I hope the sad irony of all this is not lost: I went to Congress to testify, as a legal expert, about a federal law aimed at preventing this very type of harassment, threats and violence against healthcare providers and patients with which I soon found myself inundated. The storm against me will blow over: The peril that doctors and patients must contend with daily will not if the FACE Act is repealed.

This is not ok. These types are weak men, fearful and misogynistic lovers of patriarchy and dominance culture. They of course existed before Trump but he strongly encouraged this behavior and greenlighted the threats. And he’s too dumb to even care about it as you know damn well he’s paid for his share of abortions.

MAGA Influencer and Her Boyfriend Charged After They Allegedly Took Part in Racially-Motivated Assault in London

A MAGA influencer and her boyfriend have been charged after they were allegedly involved in a racially-motivated assault.

Melissa Rein Lively, a supporter of President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement, and Philipp Ostermann are facing charges following an incident at a London transit station last year, according to a news release from British Transport Police (BTP).

Lively, 40, was charged with one count of assault by beating, while Ostermann, 37, was charged with two racially aggravated public order offenses and a further public order offense, per the BTP.

I think it's important to differentiate between what Zionism used to be and what it has become. Zionism started as a belief that the Jewish people should have self-determination in their ancestral homeland and with the founding of Israel it evolved to maintaining, defending, and defining Israel. Since then it has further evolved to seeking Jewish sovereignty over a larger territory - Greater Israel (and Greater Zionism).

The last evolution is the problematic one. Greater Zionism has brought to the forefront the treating of Palestinian people as lesser citizens/human beings. A person can oppose Greater Zionism and the mistreatment of the Palestinian people without being anti-Semitic.

“The Kennedy Center's organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board's unilateral say-so,” Cooper ruled. “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.”

Trump accused Cooper of ruling against him "because his wife probably told him to do so" and went on to accuse him of having a conflict of interest because of his wife's politics.

“Cooper’s wife, Amy Jeffress, who doesn’t use the 'Cooper' name because they, as a couple, don’t want people to know that she has a Conflict of Interest with an important Judge, is a Radical Left Democrat, who worked as a Federal Prosecutor and Counselor to Obama Attorney General, Eric Holder,” Trump said.

He then said the alleged conflict of interest should result in charges being brought against Cooper.

“Amy is totally wired into the Left System, from her husband down, and it is impossible for me to be treated fairly. He has a total Conflict of Interest, and should be brought up on charges for not revealing these facts,” Trump wrote. “That is why The Kennedy Center will soon be closed, probably never to open again.”

And there have been threats against conk judges for years, esp SCOTUS, esp with Dobbs. Heck, there was an assassination attempt against Kavanaugh. During Biden leftist mobs were allowed to protest outside conservative judges homes, which is illegal. Left didn’t seem to care then.
