I’m sorry but that doesn’t make sense. Can you be specific on who those are?
The US does not want to lose it's financial leverage over the rest of the world. Can't have everyone paying yuan.
Makes sense. So why the harsh treatment of Zelenskyy and friendliness to Russia?

Gulf allies privately make the case to Trump to keep fighting until Iran is decisively defeated
Officials from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain have conveyed in private conversations that they do not want the military operation to end until there are significant changes in the Iranian leadership or there’s a dramatic shift in Iranian behavior, according to the officials, who were not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The push from the Gulf nations comes as Trump vacillates between claiming that Iran's decimated leadership is ready to settle the conflict and threatening to further escalate the war if a deal is not reached soon.

All the while, Trump is struggling to rally public support at home for a war that's left more than 3,000 dead across the Mideast and is shaking the global economy. Yet the U.S. leader is sounding increasingly confident that he has the full support of his most important Mideast allies — including some that were hesitant about a new military campaign in the lead-up to the war.

Zelensky has done his job. Russia and Ukraine are still tied up in a conflict. In regards to recently being nice to Russia, it's Trump trying to keep oil prices from going sky high and I think part of it is the hopes to flip Russia away from China.

It's the big three playing geopolitics.

US only imports 2.5% (or something like that) of its fuel. The core US objectives should be
-eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat for many years.
-mitigating the Iranian terror threat.

It’s gone far beyond just oil imports. Farmers are already feeling the fertilizer squeeze. Turns out, a number of things pass through that strait other than oil.

This war is a blunder of epic proportions from multiple angles.

Lol if Iran got nukes on Trumps watch or early in the next admin you‘d be blaming Trump for failing to stop Iran.

Nope. A nuclear Iran and Ukraine would likely increase stability and have prevented what’s going on now.

I'm not on board with a nuclear-armed Iran.

Ukraine made a mistake in trusting russia and the west/defend to respect their sovereignty and probably would have been better off if they'd kept their nukes.

Agree on Ukraine.

Agree on Iran. There‘s already one crazy with nukes (N Korea) that shouldn‘t have been allowed to happen. But once that genie is out of the bottle, there‘s no putting it back in. A nuclear armed Iran would be worse even worse. N Korea = crazy. Iran = theocracy crazy + neighbor they have vowed to wipe off the face of the earth. A nuclear armed Iran = who gets nuked 1st Iran or Israel, or both. And/or what terrorist proxiy (Hezzbollah) ends up with a suitcase nuke(s).

I’m not saying I want to see Iran with nukes. Or really anyone. But except in one glaring instance, nukes have been more of a deterrent and defensive weapon against escalation like air strikes that kill non-combatants and cause innocent suffering. And yes…Iran has tested this theory far too often with Israel.

Saager is a conservative journalist and right wing populist who once worked for Tucker Carlson. Not exactly a hero for me although he can be fair minded at times.

Evidently I should have reserved the accusation of “idiot” for future comments.
