To be honest Appa you guys did look pretty soft but I have a feeling that Samford is gonna pay for the rotten feeling those boys and your coaches are gonna have for two weeks. It's too early for me not to feel like App is gonna grow from this loss and be a real big fucking problem from here on out. Your defense has a lot of speed and I think that the humiliation will help them grow that heart you are looking for. They gonna be pretty angry about this. FWIW McNeese is in the same boat and if they hadn't had the ball last they would be saying the exact same thing.

I was so mad I could hardly see straight - this is the "best team ASU has fielded" and we played like that? Jeez, I could have run all over us and I've been out since '89

Hopefully, from this will come some focus on defense - we have a potent offense and will likely still be in shootouts, but we have to stop all those third down conversions. Props to McNeese for a well coached and played game.

Not only 3rd down conversion, but McNeese was 2 for 2 on 4th down conversions.....

And thanks for the pep talk Ursus...I'm not normally an alarmist, but the total lack of heart displayed by this defensive unit has me scared....we may have reached the point in our success that the youg guys who have never experienced lean years have no idea how to respond to adversity...the nerve of the other team to not lay down for App on their home opener....seriously, not to be too over-the-top, but this was the home opener on our newly renovated stadium that many, and I mean MANY, people have donated and worked hard to provide for this university and this team happens to be the lucky recipients of....and for them to "mail it in" the way they did....well, the defensive unit and coaches should be ashamed of this performance...their response against a decent Samford team will tell whether they care or not....

I know you're not the overreacting type Appa and as you know I watched the game and I can see why App fans would have a problem today. You wanna here alarmist you should hear some of the Griz faithful today. We had exactly the opposite thing going on as you guys did and a lot of people want to cry about the lack of continuity on offense when our D played a hell of a physical game. UCD's defense is a real good D and pretty damn physical also and they played a good game but we won on the road and people are still whining. They put the ball in the air 67 time, completed 43 of them and scored 10 points.

So in a long winded way I guess what I'm saying is YOU have a reason at least to be pissed right now. Your defense will get better in the next couple of weeks and your team will be very successful this year, count on it.

We'll see how it goes. Our offense is still a question mark but our defense is a completely different team from last year. That means we win the close ones this time. (That wouldn't apply to the game with ASU last year)

Princeton actually has a very good rushing game. In fact they look at lot like Samford on the run. This week will tell us a lot about the team. One thing is for sure... this probably isn't a 7th place team this year.
