Re: Richmond at Delaware Game Thread
Delaware takes a Richmond turnover on a muffed punt return and turns it into 7 points. 15-7 Delaware.

Delaware's D-line is MANHANDLING Richmond's O-line.

Richmond dodged a bullet there...that pass was VERY close to being completed before being knocked loose.

Richmond blocks Delaware's would be game winning 21 yard FG with 38 seconds left to escape Newark with a "W".
Congrats to the Spiders on a hard fought victory.

Listened to the second half on the radio - frustrating loss. Sounds like Richmond outplayed the Hens, but turnovers kept it close.
I'm not sure I like the 3rd down play call just before the blocked FG. UD ran the ball and Richmond stopped them easily - way too conservative IMO. Seems to me the Hens should have thrown into the endzone on that play. If the Hens really wanted to be conservative they should have just kicked on 3rd down there.
Nice win for Richmond, UD led almost the whole game.

That game was a bit ugly...I was hoping Deleware would issue an early lose to the Spiders to help my Dukes win the CAA South...who knows who will when the CAA and get the auto bid.

Back from the game. Tough loss. Striefsky simply kicked too low.
I'm not sure why the Hens abandoned the run in the second half. They had established a decent run in the first. Devlin was very sharp in the first half and (other than his final completion of the game) looked pretty rough in the second half. Running the ball would have taken some of the pressure off of him.
Valiant effort against the #1 team, but a loss is a loss. No moral victory achieved.

Yesterday was an opportunity lost. All week long I thought UD had a chance to win this game, I was hoping that Richmond would be a little "hung over" after their FBS win over Duke. I may have been right, but UD let the game get way.93henfan wrote:Back from the game. Tough loss. Striefsky simply kicked too low.

Re: Richmond at Delaware Game Thread
What a difference yesterday could have made. Yesterday's loss leaves basically no margin for error with @W&M, JMU, @Navy & @Nova still on the schedule. You basically have to win two of those and go undefeated in the rest of the CAA schedule. That's a very tall order and shows the difference between the CAA and SoCon. App fans are still talking about running the table and making the playoffs, while we're looking at another brutal CAA slate and it's tough to be too optimistic. All because of a damn field goal.BlueHen86 wrote:Yesterday was an opportunity lost. App fans can be optimistic because their team is a proven winner and has shown it has the ablity to beat anyone in the Socon. UD hasn't proven anything yet. I think the Hens are better than last year, but that's not hard to do.

Heartbreaker for the Hens. But, hey, at least Notre Dame lost!

the real diference between that conference for vaginas known as the CAA and THE PREMIER conference in the FCS is that Y'ALL DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PLAY EVERY TEAM IN YOUR LEAGUE!!! WHAT A JOKE!! IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE TO LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE AND NOT SEE APPY, FURMAN, OR PIGS ASS EVERY YEAR!93henfan wrote:What a difference yesterday could have made. On the other hand, I'm sure all those teams love seeing The Citadel on their schedule every year.citdog wrote:the real diference between that conference for vaginas known as the CAA and THE PREMIER conference in the FCS is that Y'ALL DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PLAY EVERY TEAM IN YOUR LEAGUE!!!
