As far as libertarian principles, classical/traditional libertarians tend to believe in individual liberty, civil liberties, limited government, free markets, non-interventionist foreign policy, etc.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 3:20 pmWhere did I state that comey was actively trying to assassinate trump? I didn't. There is a difference between that and stating that "comey is actively trying to have trump assassinated" and trump himself stating "a child knows . . . that meant assassination, and it says it loud and clear" and lil donnie jr tweeting "comey casually calling for my dad to be murdered" backs up my claim that they were insinuating that comey was actively trying to have trump assassinated.Baldy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 1:46 pm
Anyone with any common sense knows exactly what Comey was insinuating with the shells he magically discovered on his little walk on the beach. That is a big difference from you claiming the Trumpers believing that Comey is 'actively' trying to assassinate Trump.
Quit backpedaling. You explicitly said Trump started the Jewish Space Lazer bullshit. The facts are that it was MTG and Trump has never uttered a word about it. Now that you were corrected, you're trying to play the guilt by association game. Stop it.
Someone certainly needs to educate you, but I have neither the time nor patience.
However, I will educate you with this. What you and klam seem to not realize is that Trump supporters come from all over the map. Many different races, religions, philosophies, etc. On top of that, they are not monolithic and no more cultish than the Obamabots were.
You're welcome.
Anyone with any common sense knows that what comey was insinuating is up to interpretation. 86 is a broad term that doesn't only mean to kill. comey could very well have simply been calling for trump's removal from office, not his assassination. It was quite the leap made by a bunch of overly sensitive beta cuck snowflakes to jump to the conclusion that it could only mean that comey wanted him assassinated.
As far as Jewish space lasers go, why does my trolling MAQA yahoos on the many whackadoodle Qanon like conspiracy theories that they believe trigger you so much? trump encourages MAQA yahoos to believe crazy bullshit, he might not have pushed that one explicitly but he's pushed enough of them (the 2020 election was stolen, "they're not after me, they're after YOU. I just happen to be standing in the way", etc.) for me to include it under the umbrella (Qanon believers helped him get started). That is the context of that statement. My apologies if that triggers you as well. Do you need a safe space with a blanky and pacifier?
Yes MAQA yahoos come from all over the map but to state that obama's supporters were monolithic is obtuse, they come from just as diverse backgrounds and ways of thinking as trump's.
Here are some of trump's policies that conflict with traditional libertarian beliefs:
- Tariffs – conflicts with free markets (tariffs are government-imposed barriers that distort free markets).
- Consolidation of power in the executive branch and weakening checks & balances (attempts to control independent agencies like the Fed, unilaterally withholding funds appropriated by Congress, etc.) - conflicts with limited government. Libertarians favor separation of powers, constitutional limits, and checks against authoritarian tendencies.
- Targeted investigations, firings, and political retaliation against opponents - conflicts with civil liberties and limited government.
- Attempting to impose their social mores on others (banning DEI, criminalizing gender-affirming care, not federal but states requiring the Bible and/or 10 Commandments in classrooms/curriculum and banning books, etc.) – conflicts with individual liberty, civil liberties, limited government, parental rights.
- Immigration restrictions (limiting immigration, expanding detentions & deportations, attempting to end birthright citizenship) – conflicts with individual liberty and free association.
- State ownership stakes in firms like Intel and U.S. Steel - conflicts with limited government and free markets.
- Deploying the national guard to LA and DC, threatening to deploy them elsewhere – conflicts with limited government (local autonomy and limited use of coercive force).
Now are you going to take the easy way out and just take pot shots at this post or are you going to do a little work and show me where you disagree and why?
