You're essentially arguing that public opnion/will of the people is more important than the Constitution. Then its okay to ignore the Constitution and implement tighter gun restrictions if public opinion supports them.
Congratulations on agreeing with liberals that the Constitution is a living document that should evolve to meet contemporary needs and societal changes.
I'm not sure the Constitution has been violated with regards to Trump's actions in D.C. - it's a pretty unique situation, hence why he's blustered about other places like Chicago but to date hasn't followed through on those.
I agree, that's why I stated earlier in the discussion that "Federal jurisdiction is different in DC than it is in Chicago, LA, etc." Use of the National Guard in LA, Chicago, etc. could be considered a violation of the Constitution (Posse Comitatus). And this is only one example of trump's EO's possibly being in violation of the Constitution.
MAQA yahoos don't want the 2nd amendment infringed upon but they seem to have no problem with trump stepping all over other amendments. They (or others) don't get to pick and choose which amendments matter and which can be ignored. You justifiably criticize kalm for flipping on protectionism but trump and MAQA yahoos have flipped on so many conservative principles that they
cannot reasonably be called conservatives.
