Maybe the comfortable bureaucrat Erika McEnfarter, should’ve taken an objective look at these big-time corrections with all these job reports…

Maybe she should’ve drilled down into it to try to make it better because who’s gonna believe anything that comes out of her department with such a drastic changes every month. good grief it’s 2025. I need to do better than this … but no she wasn’t thinking

comfortable bureaucrats that are never held accountable for anything have a tendency not to think

If she was fired, that’s what she should’ve been fired for…. Getting paid to sit on her ass.
Are you aware of the process involved in collecting this data and confirming it once additional numbers are available? Do you realize that businesses, investors, and financial markets all over the world rely upon it?

Of course you don’t.

McEntarfer is an experienced and serious economist. Unlike most of Trump’s cabinet and appointees who are bootlicking performative Fox News and TV actors without experience in government administration.

And zero evidence has been provided that numbers were manipulated. Even when asked for it on news shows.

This is why conservatives like former economists with the Heritage Institute and WSJ are being heavily critical of the firing.

With Trump, every accusation is a confession. Which numbers is he manipulating?
Are you aware of what Scott Besent told morning Joe and Mika ?

Exactly what I said

“ we have settled for so much mediocrity across the government “

“If the employers weren’t providing this data, then the incumbent is responsible for finding a new way to collect the data”

CH thinks like Mr Bessent :D

Geez so fucking easy and you support lazy azz government employees is as predictable as the sunrise

They get the data, it's just a matter of when.

I'll repost this hoping that reading it a second time (if they can actually read) will help the simpletons understand how the data is collected and how such a big change could happen. This isn't the first time it's happened and only a beta cuck would get their panties in a wad over it.
UNI88 wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 7:57 am Maybe the Brits can help the simpletons on the board understand how jobs numbers are reported and why they were revised so much and more importantly why they weren't rigged to make trump look bad and why the revisions are normal and not a sign of incompetence ...

Why were US job numbers which riled Trump revised down by so much?
The BLS head - known as the commissioner - plays no role in collecting the data or putting the numbers together, only stepping in to review the final press release before its published, according to former commissioners.

"My reaction was, 'That couldn't happen,'" says Katharine Abraham, who served as BLS commissioner from 1993 to 2001, about Trump's claims that the numbers had been rigged.

"The commissioner doesn't have control over what the numbers are," she adds.

The jobs report from the BLS is based on two surveys – one that collects data from about 60,000 households and another from 121,000 public and private sector employers.
...
"The initial estimates of payroll employment are a preliminary look at what occurred in each month," the BLS told BBC Verify.

"It is the quick but lower-resolution snapshot of what went on in the job market for a particular month. Because the revised estimates are based on more complete data, they create a higher resolution picture - and occasionally the revised data produce a different picture," it added.

The bureau updates the figures in the two months following the initial monthly estimate, as more responses come in. It also recalculates the numbers annually to incorporate data from unemployment insurance tax records.

"There are all of these career people who also have the data and if the commissioner were to try to change the numbers they would all know and it would get out," Prof Abraham says.

No. I don’t watch Morning Joe and it’s sad to watch Bissent constantly have to lie to cover Trump’s ass.

And if that’s what Bissent actually said, he too doesn’t understand even the basics of process, how long they’ve been used for, and which financial institutions rely upon them world wide.

So yeah…think like Bissent all you want.

And lastly, was it laziness or did she cook the books to make Trump look bad just like he alleges she did before the election?

:suspicious:

Old and antiquated that it has to be updated every month because last months numbers were completely wrong

You gotta make it work for the people who need the data

This explanation is pretty succinct. Also consider the president fired her immediately without enough time to thoroughly investigate whether the numbers are adequate.

Sorry, CH. you’re being lied too.

You guys haven’t comprehended what myself and Treasury Secretary have said

The lazy federal employee sat on her ass and never questioned this antiquated and archaic process. No forethought at all.

Trump shakes things up and it’s good too see

Maybe these career useless government bureaucrats will actually try to improve processes across the government

Could the data collection process be improved using modern technology? Yes. Does that mean the the current process is wrong? No, it has flaws but still works. Does it mean that the current process and the person in charge of it "rigged" it to make trump look bad? No. As many have said, that would take a conspiracy of hundreds if not thousands which would be impossible to keep secret. McEntarfer was a scapegoat.

We can apply that same improvement using modern technology ethos to voting as well. There is no reason we can't use modern technology to implement online voting where we can verify the identity and citizenship of the person voting just like a financial institution does.

If you support using modern technology to improve data collection you should support using it to implement online voting. :D

Online voting?

As long as it’s cross checked with

Social Security numbers
US citizenship
Death certificates
The census so we don’t have 37 people claiming an apartment in the Bronx as their address
One vote per person
Eliminates mail in ballots for almost everyone

Of course you would still have slime ball millennials tricking granny

So you have nothing other than your spoon fed assumption that all government employees are lazy. Do you have anything to substantiate your feelings? No. No you don’t.

Real life economists, trade ministers, central bank officials, CFO’s, CEO’s, sovereign wealth fund managers all rely upon these numbers. Christ, Trump 1 did as well. Yet very little if any accusations of laziness and fraud up until now. Heck the numbers and process themselves are public and reviewable.

If there was some true evidence, Trump would have produced it. And he’d be able to show his work.

Either produce some real facts or take a seat. You’re losing this one badly.

Trump‘s platform was closer to conservatism that Biden‘s was, and A LOT closer than Harris‘s was.
