Nearly 40 percent of Americans say they would back Musk’s third party if he creates one, poll finds
According to the survey, conducted by Quantus Insights, 14 percent of voters said they would be "very likely" to support or vote for a political body launched by the Tesla boss, while 26 percent said they would be "somewhat likely."
...
Quantus noted that “skepticism remains high among older and Democratic voters but the signal is clear: a large slice of the electorate is open to something new, something disruptive.”

“This is not about Musk. It’s about the growing sense that the existing order is failing to represent the country as it truly is, or wants to be,” the pollster said.

“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” he wrote. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

Musk’s third-party musings began in earnest after last month’s massive meltdown between the president and his former adviser over the “big beautiful bill,” which the former DOGE head has decried as wasteful.

As Trump on Thursday flaunted his successful push to muscle the Republican megabill through Congress this week, Musk sought to drum up support for his potential third party launch, positing that his new party would target a handful of vulnerable swing seats to leverage political power.

Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,” he wrote.
Heard similar with the Reform Party 30+ years ago. Remember Ross Perot? Been hearing about being only a few years away from the arrival of a legit 3rd party for as long as we have been hearing that the US was only a few years away from becoming a world power in soccer. And we’ll be hearing the same thing the next decade, and the next..

As soon as the spoiled rotten entitlement driven Americans hear what would have to happen to their “benifits” to really balance the budget they will abandon the America Party in a NY Peter minuet.

This is so much more important than climate change, but they never talk about this kind of stuff in school

Ross Perot was right about those jobs leaving the country …. that giant sucking sound

Trump immediately jumped in with a length screed. This likely would hurt him and the R’s the most.

Musk has the power and influence to make this a possibility. Especially if he garners support from the likes of Cuban.

I think it’s needed and musk is right about the uni-party but much of that is corporate capture.Doubt if I’d like the type of candidates he’d come up with tho.

You mention the national debt to any Democrat and all you’ll get back is a blank stare. They don’t even have a concept of what it is.

We will see if things get worse because of the debt but so far Trump has been right about everything. Scott Besent has addressed the debt numerous times because now for some strange reason  the national debt is on the medias radar. The reason is their stooge is no longer the president.

TDS, also known as tariff arrangement syndrome, is when deranged group think says everything will collapse like you predicted. In fact, inflation is down and tariffs are putting billions and billions of dollars into the US treasury. Market is up

Besent is saying that by unlocking America’s great potential will ultimately get the debt under control

So Democrats are like you and other MAQA yahoos, they only care about the deficit when the opposing party is occupying thw White House.

The trump regime is pissing America's potential down it's leg. They're at war with intelligence and innovation and they're focused on bringing yesterday's jobs back at the cost of the jobs of the future.

Talk to me at the end of the year about tariffs and the markets. The roller coaster ride isn't over yet.

Yes I googled so you can learn

Several major tech companies are investing billions of dollars in the US, particularly in areas like AI infrastructure, manufacturing, and research and development. Companies like Apple, NVIDIA, IBM, and Amazon are leading the charge, with investments totaling hundreds of billions of dollars.
Here's a breakdown of some key investments:
Apple:
Apple has pledged to invest over $500 billion in the US over the next four years, focusing on AI, silicon engineering, and skills development. This includes a new facility for manufacturing AI servers.
NVIDIA:
NVIDIA is investing hundreds of billions of dollars over the next four years to build AI infrastructure in the US, including the first time they'll produce AI supercomputers and Blackwell chips entirely on American soil.
IBM:
IBM is investing $150 billion in the US over the next five years to accelerate its role as a global leader in computing, focusing on manufacturing and quantum computing.
Amazon:
Amazon is also planning significant investments, aiming to spend $100 billion, in expanding data centers and AI infrastructure.
Other Notable Investments:
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) is investing $100 billion in a chip fabrication plant in Arizona. Additionally, there are reports of major investments from companies like OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank in AI infrastructure.
These investments reflect a broader trend of tech companies prioritizing domestic manufacturing and AI development in the US. The investments are also seen as a response to government initiatives and a desire to strengthen the US tech sector's position.

In your tiny minority opinion. I can think of plenty of things that myself and the majority of the country thinks is more important than supposed global warming.

trump has also:
  • made the USA less appealing to the best and brightest foreign students. Students who frequently stay in the US and contribute innovations that make America more successful.
  • attacked institutions of higher learning. Institutions where the best and brightest learn and prepare to the enter the workforce where they grow our GDP and advance our economy.
  • devalued intellectuals and white collar jobs to promote blue collar jobs. We need both and both should be promoted and celebrated.
How much of that manufacturing will be handled by robots? The jobs created will be maintaining robots and will require advanced training and skills. Cleetus and his GED aren't going to cut it.

With the Texas flood:
  • Did trump's cuts include a "warning coordination meteorologist tasked with facilitating communication between forecasters and emergency managers"?
  • Did the "state’s Republican-controlled legislature reject a bill that would have established a statewide plan to improve Texas’s disaster response infrastructure, upgrading alert systems and providing grants for counties to buy new emergency communication equipment, including outdoor warning sirens"?
If newsom and Democrats were to blame for the California wildfires then turnabout is fair play and trump, abbott and Republicans are to blame for the Texas floods.

Should we look through MAQA yahoo comments on that thread(s) for examples of not politicizing and or placing blame following a tragedy?

We didn’t make Covid worse, silly.

And yes…there’s a whole bunch we can do about climate change starting with restoring funding to NOAA.
