Rarities

Post by CAA Flagship »

Certainly the end of the UNI-Iowa game will go down as a rare ending.

Here is what we saw Saturday night. Old Dominion blocked all three of Chowan's extra point attempts. But the kicker (no pun intended) is that all three were blocked by the same player. A new NCAA D-I record.

Anyone else here of anything that happened that is extremely rare?

I don't know how rare but our All American RB went out in the 1st and our longest run from scrimmage was by our kicker.

is it enough of a rarity that an FCS team had more fans in an FBS teams home stadium for a game?

i know we pulled that off in 07 at Minnesota, and I've not heard of that since...

This past weekends game vs Michigan State was the first time that Montana State has been in a game with no turnovers for either team since 1975.

Were you aware that both UNI field goals were blocked by the same player?

All very good additions. Let's keep this going.

Same Iowa player on both blocks. Even more incredible.

that isn't good bro. it was a fbs team tho, Im looking forward t seeing what ewu does against Cal.

these are kinda rare:
Nichols had a horrific frosh year, then a GREAT soph year, then bad junior year. :shake:
Last year the 4 rb's in the depth chart were all seniors and Ewu didnt recruit anyone to replace them.
UM fields a mostly 'white' fb team... and they're one of the best EVERY YEAR! :thumb:

Correction: the first kick was blocked by Broderick Binns and the second by Jeremiha Hunter. Hunter was the player that screened rather than falling on the first blocked kick allowing UNI to recover it.

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

My QB my sophomore year threw 7 picks against Maine. I got literally head planted into the icy muddy field THREE times chasing after the little DBs, I smartened up and "contained" the following four.

Here's the lastest example. Southern/ULL. Shattered the stadium record set in 2007 against McNeese by 10,000 people. You can see the blue overshadowing the red. Those are grass hills in the endzone. Too bad the same thing didn't happen on the field.

I think it's mostly from the red seats, there is a lot of blue in there...

I can certainly see some blue, but I don't see it overshadowing the red...

Anyways, I don't think this is the kind of thing that CAA Flagship is really looking for, because it can't be quantified and it won't show up in any record books.

I would say 55% red 45% blue. VERY CLOSE. what we cant see is the endzone closest to the camera, & under the upper deck, theres also blue on the closer-away side. Still pretty good for a fcs team.

I'd say 55-60% blue and 40-45% red. Bottom third of the stadium looks blue, solid group of red centered around both 50 yard lines and continuing around the back of the endzone on the near sideline only, and then a mixed but more blue group along the far sideline after the 15 yard line or so.

Its also the first time Michigan State has played a I-AA/FCS team since the Division I split.
