That's TWELVE starters that will ALL be back next year. In addition to all the juniors and sophomores that were already starting and will ALSO return. Next year bodes VERY well for Griz Nation...Twelve different players had their first-ever starts at Montana: Selle (Billings), Gratton (Billings), junior center Alex Verlanic (Drummond), sophomore guard Jon Opperud (Portland, Ore.), sophomore defensive end Bobby Alt (Ontario, Calif.) and junior defensive end Severin Campbell (Denver, Colo.), junior defensive tackle Tyler Hobbs (Spokane, Wash.), redshirt freshman linebacker Josh Stuberg (Helena), junior cornerback Brandon Dodson (Tulare, Calif.), sophomore linebacker Alex Shaw (Spokane, Wash.), junior strong safety Erik Stoll (Sandpoint, Idaho), and punter Sean Wren (Yorba Linda, Calif.).

You assume too much about some of the posters here.putter wrote:Everyone here does know that the Griz play @ UC Davis and Cal Poly in OOC this year too??? One game does not a season make

edit: except on the offensive line....AZGrizFan wrote:This little nugget on montanagrizzlies.com caught my attention:

Exactly. I talked to Appa on Sat. night and told him that it wasn't inspiring to watch and that there was no continuity to it. Kemp came in during drives on specific plays (down & distance, field position) to take over a drive that one of the other qb's was in the middle of. I don't have a problem with the way he did things cuz it ain't about blowing the doors off of this one team, it's a test for what he has for the rest of the season. He tested nearly everyone from what I could see. The notable exceptions were the two starting corners. I don't think Swink played at all either. One problem I see though is the qb's aren't setting their feet very often when making throws and although not bad were getting close to bad. I think we missed at least three maybe four td opportunities due to missed passes alone. Hope that gets fixed but it may be Selle in the early going at the very least cuz Roper seems to be sticking to the habits formed as a Spread Option qb as far as the footwork goes.AZGrizFan wrote:And once again, Bobby uses the controlled scrimmage routine, getting 47 players into the act. No WONDER they had a hard time getting any rhythm down.

It's very cool of him to mention us like that. I have seen other coaches mention us in that light as well and that is why I am fairly excited to see you guys building something very special. It's a god damn cool thing to be a part of for your coaches, players, and all of the fans.CAA Flagship wrote:OT: Montana fans mentioned by Old Dominion coach:

Just a few years back it was Weber that always entertained Western State at home.NorthernCOU wrote:I just saw where they're gonna play them again next year.
