Part of the problem is Ganny knowingly muslirtrays my arguments of the course of this ride. I explained that Otto long ago and he had no reply.

But yes, when I’m dead wrong, I’ll At least own it.

my arguments along the course of this ride. I explained that a few posts ago and he had no reply.

Ganny isn’t wrong that pre-trump you were pro-protectionist.

I understand that you can be pro-tariff but not approve of the haphazard and sometimes unjustified (Canada) implementation by the trump regime.

I was. That’s where I’ve changed my mind a bit. The deeper discussion that has argued back then had to do with globalization, some of Adam Smith’s trade ideas, environmental impacts, worker exploitation in the global south, etc. It was a much broader discussion than Ganny’s recent attempts at gotcha-ism.

Priorities. Saudis, Liv, gallerying, dinner parties. Let’s back burner fallen soldiers, a crashing market, and un-creative destruction of the U.S. government. :loser:

I can’t tell you how many times I had to back out of an event or fun weekend of golf or fishing because the business needed my attention.

Presidents NEVER attend these events for non-combat deaths. Can you please name me the last time a President did?

You people are desperate for anything.

I honestly don’t know and touche. But the criticism is fair regardless of party and administration. They were deployed overseas and on a combat training mission.

No obsession, I just think it's one of the more startling things on these boards over the years. Pwns is right, Trump is approaching all of this with the finesse of guy using a front end loader to remove an ant from his garden, but he's basically following your economic blueprint and philosophy for America. And now that it's in motion and playing out right in front of us, all of a sudden you are anti-protectionist. I just find it interesting. :coffee:
Is kalm"s about face that different from former pro-business and pro-democracy/freedom conservatives who are now populist MAQA yahoos pushing anti-trade protectionism and supporting ruthless dictators?
No. He's a feckless twat who changed stances due to Trump. :crybaby:

What if you’re a middle age investor or elderly investor? What if you’re own, are managing, or employed by a publicly traded company? What if your kids work for one and are facing layoffs? What if your in residential construction or sell cars to people who restore loans? What if you make money off those loans?

Think it through, man.

Update your prescription. There are zero economists domestic or foreign who don’t recognize the far reaching implications and threats to what’s MuskTrump are doing. A sea change in world order and cooperation is occurring in real time. Downplaying that with simplistic personal investment advice is a massive head in the sand/tribalistic play. We’re leaving through a dramatic moment in history.

You can continue to play dumb or open your mind a little. Your choice.

What kind of question is that? What are driving at?

I hope they’re not planning on buying a Jag or Land River as both are halting exports to the U.S.
