ASU's Edwards close to recovering from foot injury
While waiting for its star player to heal, Appalachian State has found another quarterback capable of making big things happen on offense.
Newcomer Travaris Cadet led three touchdown drives in the second half Saturday as the Mountaineers charged back from a 24-point deficit in a 29-24 loss to East Carolina.
Now the question is who will be the quarterback when the Mountaineers play their next game, against McNeese State on Saturday in Boone?
Will it be Armanti Edwards, who is close to recovery from a foot injury that has kept him sidelined through the preseason? Will it be DeAndre Presley, who started against East Carolina but struggled through much of the game? Or will it be Cadet, a junior-college transfer who has emerged and impressed with his poise and running ability?
Edwards is planning to return to practice today without restrictions and, depending on his progress, could be upgraded from questionable to probable.
"We'll wait and see what the doctor says about Armanti," Coach Jerry Moore said after the East Carolina game. "I'd say with today's performance you've got to look at Cadet."

I say make sure AE is healthy. The SoCon games are what is going to propel them into the post season. Better safe than sorry.

I watched part of the game....mostly when Cadet was in there...
How can you go wrong letting Edwards have one more week off to get into top game shape, when you have someone like Cadet???
