Good logic and glad you brought it up. That makes it pertinent that the Grizzlies have performed well enough in overall schedule to win 2 NC, make 5 appearances in the Title game, and NOT MISS the playoffs in 16 yrs. while NDSU has never even once made the FCS playoffs. Talk about fucking pathetic huh?

UAH: Not to nitpick, but the Griz have been in 6 NC games, not 5, in the last 14 years.

I did some quick calculations a few months ago, and the Griz have finished (based on their performance in the playoffs - 1st for champ, 2nd for runner up, 3rd or 4th for semifinalist, etc.) with an average season's on-field performance of 4th in I-AA/FCS over the last 16 years - which is higher than any other team in the division, even including App State's 3 straight championships.

Rank on that, FargoBison.

Damn, I meant to put to 5 in the last 9 years Crunch. I can't tell you how much I don't mind this kind of nitpicking brother.

Cupcake or not it doesnt matter, playing cupcakes every year sure hasnt hurt the Grizzlies, they have made the playoffs what 16 years in a row? Heck I would be happy if Weber just made the playoffs every year.

Griz fans, don't make me talk about our 2006 mythical title  ....But seriously, losing to YSU on the road isn't horrid, not the greatest smack attempt there. I'll gladly put up NDSU's history of the past 70 years up against Montana's. The past decade not so much, even though NDSU has had a few great seasons, few if any teams have been as solid as the Griz have been.

With any other YSU team I would have to admit that would be weak but no such admission will come from me on last years YSU team.

If you think your 2006 trophy is sweet then you oughta get a load of my imaginary tropycase someday. It would absolutely blow your fucking mind. I have an undefeated and NC tropy for "Plain and Fancy Fucking" that is a thing of beauty. :thumb:

Not yet, still working on the "mythical" title banner and rings for the team. There is also a hold up as some fans are demanding the team be awarded a mythical title for the 2007 season as well.

Thinking about it you might be right, I still can't believe we lost that game, sadly it defined our season. A season I had almost forgot about until now.

Now I need to go find my 2006 mythical title highlight video to get back in the right vibe before tomorrow's game.

Been there man, I had to watch the JMU game a few times to lift me when down over the Richmond game in the off season. Good luck against the Cyclones that would also help wipe away a few remnants. :thumb:

Don't even get me started with the Bison. I've seen them play in the FD a few times. You're not that good. I was at the 2003 game in Missoula too. And guess what, you got lucky on a down year for us.

You Bison fans are worse than Vikings fans. Get the fuck over yourselves. Jesus.

Hey, Willy, I reckon you mean the Vikings of the NFL. You don';t hear any of us Portland State Vikings bellyaching in here. We're realistic, don't expect winning more than 5 games this year. If we get out of the OSU game with half the team uninjured.

Which is essentially Ursus' point. They bitched about SUU. They bitched about Albany. They bitch about Western State. It's like a ****' broken record.

Unless our non-conference schedule was App State, UNI and JMU every year, some people would NOT be happy.
Nah, if you simply switched the DII for a I-A (like most of the rest the of the I-AA powers have done) you probably wouldn't hear many complaints about your schedule as it would be typical for a contender:
-8 conference games
-a tough OOC
-a patsy (I-AA) OOC
-a I-A

4 Years FBS: 40-11 (.784). Highest winning percentage & least losses of all of G5 2022-2025.

You do realize, don't you, that the ONLY reason most I-AA "powers" do that is for the money, right? And you do realize that Montana makes more money on a home game with Western State of Colorado than any FBS team is willing to pay them, right? Or do we not care about facts now, and (as Ursus has pointed out) it's just a "dick measuring" contest? What logical reason would prompt Montana to take LESS money to GO to Boise State? Or take NO money to go to Moscow?

I know, I know....applying logic to this situation is fruitless.

Teams get upset about your schedule because it's a god damn joke. You playing them is like Florida playing The Citadel...a god damn joke. Almost as big of a joke as not giving a price break to season ticket holders for that game.
Actually they should be happy. That is one less Div I team that the Griz can count toward going to the playoffs. The fewer Div I teams that the Griz play the more important any losses that the Griz incur.
Playing Western State should count as a lose, pathetic, absolutily pathetic .

I lived in Cambridge Mass two different decades

I now live in Redmond Washington and visit Montana frequently - your little dig about Montana stems from a complete lack of knowledge - it is simply one of the greatest places on earth from Mountain peaks to raging rivers world class mountain biking world class skiing world class fishing world class hunting...

$722K, that's probably what UMass makes in an entire season to support their pathetic football program and their pathetic stadium. UMass isn't even the most recognized FCS football team in their own state. That's pathetic.

I knew umassfan was being particularly douchey, thanks for clearing that up.
