Big Sky slate week 1 (9/5)

Post by JALMOND »

From what I see, no Big Sky games this weekend. All teams except NAU start next week (NAU starts 9/12).

Western Oregon @ EWU
ISU @ Arizona State
Western State (CO) @ UM
MSU @ Michigan State
UNC @ Kansas
PSU @ Oregon State
Sac State @ UNLV
WSU @ Wyoming

Let me know if I left any games out.

Starting next week, I'll post the power rankings on Monday and predictions on Wednesday, with results on Sunday. Hopefully I can improve on the 15 I missed last year (I've been getting worse every year, not better. 2006 I only missed 9 games, 2007 I missed 11). As I keep saying, all opinions in these are strictly my own (what they say, opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one) and all are open for discussion.

The big question is this: Will there be a SINGLE game involving BSC competition on 9/5 that will be within 35 points?

Ironically, the closest game will probably be WSU @ Wyoming.

Im still kinda of wondering how many points ASU and Oklahoma are going to score on ISU combined.

Sac might give UNLV a scare, heck they gave Colorado State a scare. But like AZ said, the closest game should be Weber/Wyoming.

WildCat Ryan, I finally agree with you. I dont think people should sleep on Sac st @ unlv. Unlv aint exactly FBS royalty & Sac state has athletes. Time will tell.

I'm going to put the over/under on ISU's games against ASU & OK at 135.

Yeah we’ll see. I don’t think Sac State will pull it out, but I’ll be hoping for the best. UNLV isn’t the best out there but nonetheless they have some players. Win or lose the most important thing to me is that Sac State doesn’t get hit with any major injuries that may impact the season and that they look competitive for most of the game. :?

Define "close"? The only time these games are going to be CLOSE is at the opening kickoff. OSU and UNLV win by 28 and 24, MINIMUM.

The last time Oregon State was this healthy, they beat USC in Corvallis. Portland State is not USC. That is all I have to say on that.

I only hope it is still "close" at the end of the first quarter...

Not going to be the greatest first week for the Big Sky.

2 Big Sky wins possibly 3, out of 8.

Well, maybe even a little closer than 34 points... do you want a Weber State hat?
