Anyone else going? Since we're only 45 minutes away, me and Mountain Man don't have an excuse not to, and it's a neat little event besides. If you've never been, be forewarned — LEAVE YOUR WALLET AT HOME. You will see all kinds of cool shit that you absolutely must...have. Game jerseys and player warmups from the previous season, sweet licensed merch out the ying yang, etc. If you're like me, and by "like me" I really mean "an idiot," and you would gladly overpay for authentic game uni, get there early. Even at $100 a pop, skill position jerseys move pretty fast. My dream of owning a CoCo Hillary jersey (my niece and nephew call me Uncle CoCo) will no doubt be dashed again this year.goasu.com wrote:Appalachian football's annual Fan Fest is set for Saturday, August 22 beginning at 4 p.m. at ASU's Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Mountaineer players and coaches will be available for autographs and photos on the KBS turf from 4-5:30 p.m., as well as inflatable rides and face painting by ASU cheerleaders for the kids. Fans will also get their first glimpse at the new Yosef mascot that will patrol the sidelines for the Mountaineers in 2009.
At 6 p.m., the Apps will hold their final scrimmage before the Sept. 5 season opener at East Carolina. The ASU Marching Band, North Carolina’s Band of Distinction, will perform their gameday hits during the intrasquad scrimmage.
Admission to the event is FREE.
Also, you will have the opportunity to watch the scrimmage, identify an aspect of the offense, defense and/or special teams that looks like a potential season killer, and fret over it until September 5. Yay!
