How in the world was John Wilkes Booth a left wing radical?

No, but with responsible use most deaths are avoidable, just like using any kind of gun. My question is this: Why bring something that will automatically bring attention to yourself at a public place? Unless you are a member of the secret service there is no need of bringing a gun. Most people leave their house to have a good time, not to be worried about someone's constitutional right to have gun at a social outing. Guns have their place, that's why police are there to take that disasterous element out of the equation.Appaholic wrote:So dying by a car is ok?wkuhillhound wrote:
That makes sense because the majority of adults have cars instead of guns, like myself.

You exercise your Constitutional, nay, God-given right to carry your arsenal with you to protest outside of a presidential speech on a topic completely unrelated to firearms, and some goddamn little chickenshit cocksucker gets all pissy about it. Agree....just like anyone who exercises their right to free speech also have the right to look & sound like a douchebag....but I wouldn't want their rights restricted nor my rights restricted...wkuhillhound wrote:No, but with responsible use most deaths are avoidable, just like using any kind of gun. BTW, I did mention police in an earlier post, but that was to argue the mental state of the person, not constitutionality.

Many people carry weapons with intent to protect themselves. Right to Bear Arms is about protecting yourself(well, at least its orginial intent was).

I can only speak for those that I know and witness, but I sincerely doubt most gun carrying citizens, are doing so they can kill someone.wkuhillhound wrote:Not these days.MarkCCU wrote:

That's probably what Dobie was going after...wkuhillhound wrote:Theory: since Lincoln was a Republican, then Booth would be the opposite.Skjellyfetti wrote:

He was a southern actor that hated Lincoln, and was engaged to an Abolisionists from Mass. His love of the south really doesn't make him a conservative or deny he was a liberal. Can't rewrite history from the 1860's with 2009 views and morals.Skjellyfetti wrote:That's probably what Dobie was going after...wkuhillhound wrote:
