Breakdown - Second Round Week

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Playoffs

UIW 42-49 SHSU
UTM 7-26 MTST
HC 16-21 NOVA
SDKST 24-19 SAC
SELU 20-59 JMU
EWU 41-57 UMT
KENN 31-32 ETSU
SIU 7-38 NDSU

  • Best Performance: (#3) James Madison 59, Southeastern Louisiana 20 - Cole Johnson throws for 321 and 5 touchdowns on just 22 attempts as his Dukes rout Cole Kelley and the Lions.

Worst Performance: Tennessee-Martin 7, (#8) Montana St. 26 - It was pretty obvious the Bobcats weren't going to be able to throw the ball coming in, but the Skyhawks still lost the rushing battle 387-66.

Most Surprising Result: (#6) Montana 57, Eastern Washington 41 - The Griz defense gave up 41 points and 608 yards, both obviously season worsts, but they still won the game thanks to a 2-0 turnover advantage, 3 field goals, a blocked punt, and big field-position advantages off of kick & punt returns.

SWAC Championship Game

PVAMU 10-27 JSU

  • Best Performance: Jackson St. 27, Prairie View A&M 10 - The Tigers get 2 non-offensive touchdowns to comfortably win their first SWAC title since 2007.

Worst Performance: Prairie View A&M 10, Jackson St. 27 - The Panthers commit 5 turnovers and finish their season with 4 straight losses.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

Of course the NCAA gets it wrong by saying he threw for 6 TDs. Threw for 5 and ran for 1.
