The AGS Bison posters are the more rational of the bunch (which is why they are not posting on Bisonville) and are pretty much in line with what I said above. There is a couple that post on both boards (Professor Chaos, and PL) but they are the more level headed football posters.

Bisonville is and will always remain a shit-show. One needs a full hazmat suit and decontamination procedure afterwards just reading the threads. I read it for the few bits of knowledge that drop (CAS is a an ex-defense player and has good insights) but only on the Gameday and Post-gameday threads. The rest of the board is a dumpster fire (they give Lakes free reign). About 5-6 years ago there were some informative and funny posters, but they rarely post any more as Lakes and his cronies drown them out. The FBS talk (really most of the Football side of the board now) infects everything and it is mostly a bunch of jock sniffers trying to one up each other and have zero answer for the conference invite or money problem. Saying otherwise invites negative reputation points from the Lakes crew and/or scorn.

I am pretty sure Lakes has at least three shadow profiles that he uses to wage his own private war. Some of the posts are suspiciously close in tone and rep points.
Good to hear. I miss Professor Chaos' opinions and insights from AGS.
When he posts, I pay attention. He is definitely one of the more knowledgeable and level head posters.

Plus he uses a bunch of numbers/math. And I have a bit of a soft spot for data. :D

Good thing the football team has a separate bylaw.

Link

The Colonial Athletic Association will not allow James Madison’s teams to compete for league championships this year if the school accepts an invitation to join another conference.

JMU athletic department officials informed the school’s athletes of the league’s decision on Wednesday night.

The Dukes are expected to formally move to the Sun Belt Conference next year, a move that could be announced as soon as Friday.

Automatic bids would be unavailable for the Dukes, but the decision would not block teams from receiving at-large bids for the NCAA tournament. This does not apply to the CAA-leading football team, which remains eligible for an automatic bid from the conference because of separate bylaws.

Eh, JMU voted to enforce the same bylaws on ODU when they left. Crocodile tears if they're complaining about it now. People like to complain, it's what we do best.

No sympathy for JMU, since as you said, they enforced it on ODU and GMU

CAAF is separate. And they can still get at-larges in any sport. They will be in the FCS playoffs.

While Liberty is a good choice, given how you guys have educated me on the recent track record viz. Sun Belt vs. C-USA, I find this to be about as questionable a move for them as I found the original move-up idea. From the C-USA perspective, I understand that they're desperate for membership, but I find NMSU to be a HORRIBLE choice. I'm not sure what to think about Jacksonville State, as they proved quite the flip-flopper this year. I'm also not thrilled with the idea of losing yet another traditional FCS power to the forced irrelevancy of the lower G5. I suppose that I'd rather see SHSU go to the Mountain West; the footprint would be a bit bigger, but they'd be a better fit with those schools (SHSU would destroy NMSU, UTEP, Jax State and FL International RIGHT NOW, and be on at least an even keel with Liberty, W. Kentucky and Middle TN State), and it's easier to get to San Jose than it is to some of the schools remaining (and coming into) in the C-USA. The MWC would be a bit tougher to start, but once SHSU got acclimated, they'd have a better shot at both better bowls AND getting into the so-called "playoffs" (so long as the G5 is allowed to have any shot whatsoever). I guess I'll NEVER understand this.

PC is outstanding. He’s joining us this week on the podcast for some playoff talk (should be on the preview show which drops Thursday). His prognostications thread is very well put together.

Is this thread about JMU being FCS?

Once the decision was made, this thread fit better in the Other College Sports thread than the FCS thread. It should be moved to where it belongs.

Well, also was about other FCS moving/potentially moving. But move it to the Other College Sports. I don’t care either way..
