Re: HERO Playoff Bracketology
This may be one of the easiest years to predict the 24 teams I can remember. Without looking at the link, here are the teams still in the hunt...
Sam Houston
EKU
Montana State
Sac State
EWU
UCD
Montana
Kennesaw/Monmouth winner
JMU
W&M
Villanova
NDSU
SIU
South Dakota State
UNI
Missou State *
South Dakota *
NEC winner (too complicated to figure out who owns tiebreaker)
UT Martin
Patriot winner
Pioneer winner
ETSU
Mercer
VMI
SELA
Incarnate Word
That's 26 and Missouri State and South Dakota could both find themselves out with who they have left (SIU/UNI and SDSU/NDSU). I don't see anyone off this list making it.

Re: HERO Playoff Bracketology
SFA may have replaced EKU with their win last week and Chatty still has a chance if they beat Mercer this week.
Here's one to ponder... Could a 9-2 FAMU make the field? They would not be playing in the SWAC Championship (JSU and PVAM).

That's an interesting idea, 89. FAMU has a history of making noise in the playoffs, don't they? I mean, over and above all other HBCUs....

Re: HERO Playoff Bracketology
So not much has changed. UNI is out. SFA has replaced EKU. URI in the hunt. Missouri State and USD solidified their positions. VMI and Chatty on the bubble. Davidson chokes on closing out the Pioneer.
Looking more like the 24:
Sam Houston
SFA
Montana State
Sac State
EWU

Kennesaw/Monmouth winner
JMU
W&M or URI
Villanova
NDSU
SIU
South Dakota State

Think it comes down to 11 teams for seeds. Big Sky will get 5 in, all of them have a chance at a seed, but 4 of them play each other next weekend. They probably get 3 seeded- remember a couple years ago they had 4 seeded. Also NDSU, KSU, and ETSU all face ranked teams. Really impssible to figure out how the seeding is going to go, esp 5-8.

Question is if W&M and URI both win Sat, how do you pick the 3rd CAA. An 8-3/5-3 URI with a win over a crap UMass, but got blown out by VU, or a 7-4/5-3 W&M that upset VU? (URI & W&M didn’t play each other).

Mercer is similar. 7-3 (10 game schedule) and only 6 FCS wins. They’re out with a loss at ETSU.

Well if they lost to ETSU they would be 6-2 vs FCS. If you’re not counting the Div II wins, then you’re not counting the FBS losses. I think Mercer probably gets in as a 2nd So-Con with a loss to ETSU..
