IIRC, the punter bobbled the snap and tried to punt. Only 3 penalties yesterday, vast improvement on stupid penalties from the previous week. Kobe Johnson's 97 yard rush, was the longest in NDSU history. Johnson nearly broke another long one, 70+ yards,on his next offensive play, but was still gassed from the previous play. Only a 47 yard run.

Was it a bad snap? This is one reason I object to the modern practice of automatically making the punter the holder for place-kicks. Punters don't always handle bad snaps very well. Generally, coaches do this because they can let the "goofballs" be alone together so they can focus on everything else. I prefer quarterbacks in the role (not necessarily the starting quarterback, but it could be) because they handle bad snaps more often and generally react to them better because of that. A notable exception to that argument, however, is that idiot Tony Romo, who couldn't handle a bad snap to save his life, especially when he was holding. A positive counter-example would be Rams safety Nolan Cromwell, who was an outstanding placement holder. But in general, I'd still rather have a quarterback do it. It's not just the snap: quarterbacks are better trained in ball handling (running with the ball and passing it, both likely results of a bad snap). And a great additional reason would be fakes, particularly running speed option to the kicker. Most pure punters can't run or pass to save their lives. (I'll leave off my QB-P argument to save your sanity. )

I don't know that it was a bad snap, may have been a bobbled catch by the Punter.

That's not something I would expect of NDSU....

NDZU under Entz is not the same NDZU that they were under Klieman/Bohl. They aren't as disciplined.

And when the 3rd string is in getting reps. Blocked punt occurred at 6:51 in the 4th quarter.

Maybe it's sour grapes but to me they're a different team. NDZU under Klieman/Bohl was a hard-nosed, do your business and act like you'd been there kind of team. Under Entz, they're much more of a chippy, in-your-face, we're going to run up the score and taunt you kind of team. The culture and discipline of the team is different.

If they are different, it will take bizumb fans years to realize and admit it.

UNI down 13-6 to SIU at the half.

SIU linebacker ejected halfway through the 1st quarter for his 2nd Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty. He got the 2nd flag after a UNI strip-sack fumble recovery at the 12. It looked like the flag flew before the UNI offense had even lined up.

I'd love to know what the SIU linebacker did to earn the 2nd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. UNI offense was running onto the field when the flag flew so it had nothing to do with an actual play.
