I’m talking maybe 8-9 years old till about 13-14. I never knew any gay kids at those ages. Was it right to call it ‘Smear the Queer’ back then (in the 80s)? No. But we’re talking late elementary/junior high/middle school age juvenile kids here, not adults. If a group of kids today was playing it, that would be no worse than playing it back then IMHOP.

We played it in the 90s. I can see how it could be hurtful but it was a game that was basically tackle that guy, we never thought about it as an indictment on anyones sexual preference. Everyone was the queer at some point during that game.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 6:15 amI’m talking maybe 8-9 years old till about 13-14. I never knew any gay kids at those ages. We called it "kill the carrier", which I'm sure is almost equally offensive these days. Heck, you can't call "suicides" in basketball that anymore, have to call them gassers or something like that.

"Kill the carrier" is still used today or at least it was yesterday when I went by a park full of neighbor kids. There was a bunch of shouting "you're dead" and the ball carrier ignoring it.

A student at Oberlin College in Ohio described being "scared" and "angry" after the school announced a work crew would be installing radiators in a "safe space" dormitory for women and trans students, explaining the crew would likely be "cisgender men."
"I was angry, scared, and confused. Why didn’t the College complete the installation over the summer, when the building was empty? Why couldn’t they tell us precisely when the workers would be there? Why were they only notifying us the day before the installation was due to begin?" Oberlin student Peter Fray-Witzer wrote in an op-ed published in the college newspaper on Friday.
"In general, I am very averse to people entering my personal space. This anxiety was compounded by the fact that the crew would be strangers, and they were more than likely to be cisgender men."
The work crew eventually showed up at the dorm, and Fray-Witzer described that he saw "immediately that they were all men."
"It was clear that the College had not made a special request that male workers not be allowed onto the upper floors of Baldwin," the student continued.

But let’s face it... the majority of his cabinet are just big government Democrat policy wonks. There are a couple nuts but they are safely tucked away in harmless departments.
I’m surrounded by people who might tangentially enable or sympathize with the students in the article, but at the end of the day they would never in a million years hire or promote people like that. They are just too toxic to the workplace. And let’s face it, there are tons of heterosexual men in the Federal government. I’m not sure how that would work for these fragile creatures.

Investigations continue into the cause of the fire, which burned for almost five days and smothered south San Diego County in noxious smoke
A fire that raged for almost five days in July has doomed the San Diego-based amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard to the scrapyards, Navy officials announced Monday.
The ship will be decommissioned within a year and will be scrapped, a Navy official told reporters during a conference call Monday. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The cost of repairing the ship was estimated to be between $2.5 billion and $3.2 billion, said Rear Adm. Eric Ver Hage Monday. The cost and time involved were deemed to be too much by Navy leadership.
“After thorough consideration, the secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations have decided to decommission the USS Bonhomme Richard,” said Ver Hage, the commander of Navy Regional Maintenance Center.

A Navy report has concluded there were sweeping failures by commanders, crew members and others that fueled the July 2020 arson fire that destroyed the USS Bonhomme Richard, calling the massive five-day blaze in San Diego preventable and unacceptable.
While one sailor has been charged with setting the fire, the more than 400-page report, obtained by The Associated Press, lists three dozen officers and sailors whose failings either directly led to the ship's loss or contributed to it. The findings detailed widespread lapses in training, coordination, communication, fire preparedness, equipment maintenance and overall command and control….
…The report spreads blame across a wide range of ranks and responsibilities, from the now retired three-star admiral who headed Naval Surface Force Pacific Fleet — Vice Adm. Richard Brown — to senior commanders, lower ranking sailors and civilian program managers. Seventeen were cited for failures that "directly" led to the loss of the ship, while 17 others "contributed" to the loss of the ship. Two other sailors were faulted for not effectively helping the fire response. Of the 36, nine are civilians...
https://www.foxnews.com/us/navy-probe-r ... me-richard…Specifically, the report said failures of Vice Adm. Brown; Rear Adm. Scott Brown, the fleet maintenance officer for the Pacific Fleet; Rear Adm. William Greene, the fleet maintenance officer for U.S. Fleet Forces Command; Rear. Adm. Eric Ver Hage, commander of the regional maintenance center; Rear Adm. Bette Bolivar, commander of Navy Region Southwest; Capt. Mark Nieswiadomy, commander of Naval Base San Diego; and Capt. Tony Rodriguez, commander of Amphibious Squadron 5, all "contributed to the loss of the ship."
The report also directly faults the ship’s three top officers — Capt. Gregory Thoroman, the commanding officer; Capt. Michael Ray, the executive officer; and Command Master Chief Jose Hernandez — for not effectively ensuring the readiness and condition of the ship.
"The execution of his duties created an environment of poor training, maintenance and operational standards that directly led to the loss of the ship," the report said of Thoroman. And it said Ray, Hernandez and Capt. David Hart, commander of the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, also failed in their responsibilities, which directly led to the loss of the ship.
The report only provides names for senior naval officers. Others were described solely by their job or rank.
More broadly, the crew was slammed for "a pattern of failed drills, minimal crew participation, an absence of basic knowledge on firefighting" and an inability to coordinate with civilian firefighters.
