I'd love to pick a Hornet game this week, but playing those punks at SUU, that's not going to be a viable matchup. I went with UNI-NDSU. That likely won't be exactly a blowout, but I expect NDSU to be p!$$ed about last week's rather inept (by their standards) win....

UD slipped 2 spots in the AGS Poll after its unimpressive win over New York State last week. My money’s on URI this Saturday to pop Rocco’s cherry.

#9/11 Villanova (3-1/1-0) @ #2/3 JMU (4-0/2-0)

Winner probably gets at least a share of the CAA title, and a seed. Hopefully JMU gots its wakeup call a couple days ago in Durham.

So the CAA gets decided on October 9?

Kind of like how the MVFC gets decided on 11/8. Winner of NDSU/SDSU will get at least of share of the MVFC title..

Based on what I have seen so far (have seen UD and VU each play). If you go by the results of the 4 games each team has played, it makes no sense to have UD ahead of VU, as 2 of the 3 polls have, esp with UD‘s QB hurt. And certainly don‘t see anyone outside those 3 that have a realistic shot at 8-0 or 7-1 and the CAA title.

Forgot to mention, JMU faces an original QB1 this week, which will probably be the case through the 1st 7 games.

-Morehead: Faced QB1, the PFL preseason POTY. He was good. The rest of his team wasn‘t.
-Maine - lost 2020/21 QB1 to transfer, then new QB1 got hurt 1st half vs JMU.
-@ Weber St - QB1 hurt, QB2 started then got benched, QB3 played better way better.
-@ UNH - QB1 season ending injury late Aug, faced QB2.

-VU: Face QB1 Daniel Smith, 2019 2nd team All CAA, 2020/21 preseason CAA Offensive POTY
-10/16 @ UR: QB1 is injured with a broken finger on his throwing hand, JMU will probably face QB2.
-10/23 @ UD: QB1 is injured hip that may end his season or reduce him to a few series per game, so probably face QB2.

Given the woeful slate, I'm actually OK with having no Big Sky games on the list this week. They're either blowouts waiting to happen (except for SUU-Sac), or they're match-ups of BSC bottom-feeders with no interest whatsoever outside of the schools involved. The one caveat to that is that Cow Poly-MSU MIGHT be a trap game. I don't think ISU or UNC will be able to pull of the upset....
