Big Sky Football on TV

Post by SuperHornet »

We have a pretty good selection of Hornet home games locally, and are featured on PNW station SWX for one game at the Griz. Why the Causeway Classic isn't being televised is beyond me.

Anyways, the Big Sky has announced this year's TV schedule, and it looks pretty good if you have access to the channels involved, particularly if you have SWX, which has a rather large selection of games, depending on whether you pick it up in WA/ID or in MT.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

The Big Sky just put out an FAQ on the ESPN+ deal. I think they got a raw deal from ESPN. Each school is responsible for its own coverage; no support from ESPN HQ. One has to pay for the privilege, Pluto is completely gone, and ROOT will likely be gone after this season. The only way I see anything like this working is if a particular school has a broadcasting major. And about the only school I know of like that is Danny White University, which is in the Pac-12, and even THAT is probably focused on news production vice sports, because it's been named in honor of Walter Cronkite, the best network news anchor of all time. What it boils down to is that the fan has to pay for zero professional work, and the conference is just paying for the privilege of uploading subpar work to a national server. A bad deal if I ever saw one....

Lighten up Francis. A lot of FCS conferences have similar deals and I really like it for the MVFC and UNI. It gives communications majors (and minors) a pretty cool opportunity to work on gameday coverage. The feeds and quality are better than Pluto. I sign up for Plus on the day of the first game and cancel it 4 months later. It costs me $24.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.
