And as these loyalists harm themselves and expose all of us to unnecessary and preventable risk, publications—including this one—have run articles sympathetically explaining the recalcitrance of the unvaccinated. These tales are 2021’s version of the Trump safaris of 2017, when journalists traveled through the Midwest to seek enlightenment in diners and gas stations...

Compassion should always be the first reaction to vaccine hesitation. Maybe some unvaccinated people have trouble getting time off work to deal with side effects, maybe they are disorganized, maybe they are just irrationally anxious. But there’s no getting around the truth that some considerable number of the unvaccinated are also behaving willfully and spitefully. Yes, they have been deceived and manipulated by garbage TV, toxic Facebook content, and craven or crazy politicians. But these are the same people who keep talking about “personal responsibility.” In the end, the unvaccinated person himself or herself has decided to inflict a preventable and unjustifiable harm upon family, friends, neighbors, community, country, and planet.”

I thought the guy, Gordan Chang, was sensationalizing the breakthrough cases when he said that his doctor friends were telling him that 50-60% of their COVID positive patients were previously vaccinated - I even said so about 20 pages ago, but it's looking more and more like he was correct.

Now we see why Biden had to "correct" the Pfizer CEO when he mentioned they were getting ready for a booster for Delta.

Data from Israel and the UK are backing up his claims. It's a real shame the CDC stopped counting asymptomatic and only those symptomatics who require hospitalization or death.

Definitely makes it hard to get an idea of what is happening with the vaccines.

The Republican governor of Alabama has said it is “time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks” for rising cases of Covid-19, amid concern that months of misinformation over the need and efficacy of vaccines is fueling a resurgence of coronavirus infections in several states.

Kay Ivey said that vaccines are “the greatest weapon we have to fight Covid” and added that a surge in new cases of the coronavirus in Alabama is due to a reluctance among many people in the state to get inoculated.

Only about a third of eligible people in Alabama have got a vaccine shot, one of the lowest rates in the US.

“Folks are supposed to have common sense,” said the Alabama governor. “But it’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the vaccinated folks. It’s the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down.”

My employer mandated the vaccine today. They didn't list a consequence for not complying, but we are to provide proof of vaccination for one dose by September 1, and two doses by October 1 if you get the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.

The only way to get out of it is a doctor's letter saying you're unable to be vaccinated due to health issues with the vaccines, but no religious or personal reasons will be considered.

They cited health/safety of employees, increased strength of delta variant, potential loss of productivity, and the "now proven" vaccine as reasons for the new policy.

The ex-President did tell his supporters to get the vaccine on Saturday — but in such a way that offered an out for those who have bought into conservative misinformation about it -- and in an attack on Biden, he further politicized the issue. Yet again, Trump showed that he was not willing to diminish his own political capital for the greater good.
"I recommend that you take it, but I also believe in your freedoms 100%," Trump said, before adding, "because they don't trust the President, people aren't doing it."
