They are sequestered during deliberation, same as the trial I was a juror for. First thing we did was to vote on what everyone thought. We went from 5 guilty, 4 not guilty and 4 undecided to 12 not guilty over a day and a half deliberation.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 7:34 amIs the jury sequestered? I'm questioning the legal standing in terms of an appeal because some idiot said some stupid shit about the case, while not being involved in the case. I honestly don't know.
If John Random were to have said exactly what she said would that be grounds for an appeal and overturn?
What about a college athlete? Pro athletes? A random company executive? Where's the line on what profile of a person dictates when an appeal will be won based on what they said?

She isn't involved in the case.
She isn't in the courtroom.
She isn't in the jury room.
She didn't threaten any jurors
They jurors didn't hear her words
I'm curious when the standard for appeal is "T'his person, completely unrelated to the case from the far west coast of the county, said something about the case" became a reasonable basis for appeal.
Keep in mind the judge also said ""A congresswoman's opinion really doesn't matter a whole lot,"
So words that don't mean a whole lot somehow give grounds for an entire trial to be overturned?
Just spitballing here - She's telling a group that if they don't get the verdict they want, then to be confrontational. Some are going to take that to mean violence. And because you already have the Woke crowd vandalizing peoples homes and in the past they've stalked people, these jurors now might convict out of fear of reprisal and based off evidence.
And now she's on record doing exactly what she said Trump was guilty of.

Nope, not sequestered. Not sure how the circus surrounding this trial isn't getting seen/heard by the jurors.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 7:34 amIs the jury sequestered? I don't think sitting in a room during deliberation but being able to check your messages over breaks and going home at night is being sequestered. You're still exposed to outside influences during a highly public trial.

They stayed in a hotel, no phones, radio, electronic etc. Can't even call family. They can contact you if it's an emergency, thru the court. That's what happened to us.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:07 amSo they had you stay in a hotel, took away your phone and limited/monitored your communication with the outside world?

After the verdict was read, we left thru the judges back hallway. Police officers escorted us to our cars.

These jurors know if they din’t convict on one of the murder charges (not just manslaughter) they’ll practically have to go into the witness protection program..UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:07 amSo they had you stay in a hotel, took away your phone and limited/monitored your communication with the outside world?

Now you have Biden trying to influence the jury..Why can’t these lib politicians shut up until the jury has made a decision?

Meh...Politicians of all stripes say things they shouldn't. Or do things they shouldn't. It's a little late to get up in arms b/c POTUS is commenting on a trial.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bergda ... n-commentsBowe Bergdahl filed the complaint in federal court in Washington, D.C. last month, asking a judge to overturn his court martial conviction. Bergdahl says Trump's statements and actions by the late U.S. Sen. John McCain and his military judge violated his Fifth Amendment right to a fair trial.
https://news.trust.org/item/20190731210653-rzuoqPresident Donald Trump said on Wednesday he has directed top U.S. Navy officials to rescind a military award he says was given to Navy prosecutors who tried a Navy SEAL platoon leader acquitted of murder and attempted murder charges.
The series of tweets from Trump marked at least the third time the president has publicly commented directly on the case brought against Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher, who was accused of committing various war crimes while deployed in Iraq in 2017.

You misunderstood those Law and Order loving MAGA supporters. When they were attacking the capital and saying they wanted to hang Mike Pence..it was loving. They wanted to do it lovingly. No threat there.
