When we look back, Tiny Dick Frail Ego Trump will be consistently ranked near Buchannan and his idol Nixon.
Why? Because of his tweets?

Because it certainly won't be because of what he accomplished from a Presidential perspective:

Historic peace deals in the Middle East (multiple)
Historic economic growth before the dem's COVID release ruined it
Historic stock market growth before the dem's COVID release ruined it - then built it back in six months
Historic patriotism across America by all but the socialist and commies
Historic support for AA's and HBCU's and other minorities
Historic support for LGBT community
Historic sentencing/prison reform
Historic energy policies that made US #1 producer of oil in the world
Historic renegotiation of crappy NAFTA deal
Historic iron hand dealing with China and NoKo
Historic success in reducing flow of illegals and building of the wall

Basically, just historic. In all aspects. Need I go on? :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :kisswink:

Dem's COVID release? That's Trump is Hitler level bvllsh!t.

Decking yourself, your car, your boat and/or your house out in USA and Trump flags, signs & stickers to piss off the socialists and commies does not equal historic patriotism IMO. It's not in the same league as the patriotism experienced during WWII, immediately following 9/11, etc.

Trump's presidency has been a mixed bag of good and bad. Harding might be the better comparison on the bad side. :coffee:

And Dem's covid release? You've lost it with that one. That's some Dbackjon craziness there.

How'd I forget about Harding?! Him, Buch, Nixon keep the bottom well maintained.

I heard on the news a few weeks ago that the descendants of his love child are seeking to confirm the relationship and want to exhume Warren to conduct DNA tests.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit with Nixon at the bottom. But what does his win have to do with the fact that he ranks near the bottom? He's there with Hoover, Jackson, Filmore, etc...

https://scri.siena.edu/wp-content/uploa ... tegory.pdf

Nixon - 29 (previous rank was 30)

How can you continue to say stuff like that? See https://www.thebalance.com/us-gdp-by-year-3305543. The highest annual GDP growth during Trump was 3.0% in 2018. We had 3.1% annual growth as recently prior to that in 2015. We had years during G.W. Bush where it was 3.8% and 3.5% (2004 and 2005). We had a run during Clinton where it was 3.8%, 4.4%, 4.5%, 4.5%, and 4.1% (1996 through 2000). During Reagan we had a run where it was 4.6%, 7.2%, 4.2%, 3.5%, 3.5%, and 4.2% (1983 through 1988).

Also see https://tradingninvestment.com/stock-ma ... l-returns/. The highest annual return during Trump was 25.08% in 2017. We had a return of 26.499% as recently previous to Trump as 2013. During Clinton we had two consecutive years where annual returns were 33.452% and 26.014%.

If you continue to go back in history you can find an annual GDP growth rate as high as 18.9% and a DJIA annual return rate as high as 49.477%.

It is just ridiculous to say that what happened with the economy under Trump was "historic" unless you are just saying that it is in history.

I'm not familiar with those rankings, but when I see them rank by "Luck" and "Family Background" I'm not sure I'd put a lot of weight into that ranking. I'm not saying Nixon was a great president but his legacy is marred by one action that probably a lot of POTUS's could have just as easily done without getting caught. Going back to how invalid polling is, if you asked one million folks if they voted for Nixon, probably half would lie. It's amazing how many votes he got considering how few will admit voting for him.

That's all valid and a really good point.  You're right - Watergate overshadowed everything he did that was good (Vietnam, ending the draft, enforcing school desegregation). Man landed on the moon during his administration (though that was really JFKs baby). Diplomatic relationship with China (not sure if that's considered good or bad, TBH).

There's a matrix of rankings from notable surveys. Nixon doesn't have a good reputation.

Masseyesque? ;)

He doesn't rank highly in opinion polls because of Watergate and I'm sure a bunch of these that try to pretend to empirically rank them really don't. They still use opinion factors and I'd wager good money that they tinker with what they put in and the formulas to get desired results. Meaning I'd bet version 1.0 of their formula might have had a Geo Washington ranked really low, or a Nixon ranked really high. So they tweak it until it passes the sniff test.

There are definite similarities between Nixon and Trump. Nixon accomplished some good things but his personality and moral failings cloud how he is viewed.

Coolidge is probably the most inaccurately ranked President. Ivy could have told us more but 89 killed him and built a cage with his bones. :o

I feel similarly about Hoover. He was a great administrator during WW1 and the 1920s. The Great Depression isn't his fault or doing though he did fail to take it serious.

Catch a fucking clue, John. Please, for the sake of all of us and our sanity here.
Relax, Z. There's nothing that makes me laugh harder than when JSO discusses his version of economic-related history.

Catch a fucking clue, John. Please, for the sake of all of us and our sanity here.
Why don't you try to actually rebut what I wrote. We didn't have "historic" economic growth or "historic" stock market growth under Trump.

Let's just go with the Clinton administration. During 1997 through 1999, GDP growth was 4.4%, 4.5%, and 4.8%. The value of the Dow increased by 73% during the period. During 2016 through 2019, GDP growth was 2.3%, 3.0%, and 2.2%. The value of the Dow increased by 44% over the period.

Now: Please explain to me how you conclude that GDP growth and stock market growth were better during Trump's three years prior to COVID than they were during those three Clinton years. Make your case.

You can't, because the numbers just do not support what you typed. Saying we had "historic" GDP growth and stock market growth during Trump is absurd.
