Marxists! Marxists everywhere!
There is some truth to the criticsm - a couple of the founders of BLM are marxists, Bernie Sanders is a socialist who has expressed admiration for the USSR, etc. Why does Bernie get a pass when Trump gets roasted for sympathizing with dictators? Why is it ok to call Trump and Republicans Nazis but you can't call liberals pursuing socialist ideologies Marxists?
BLM doesn’t just have a couple of Marxist founders. BLM is a full-on Marxist organization. Have you read their list of official demands?
BTW I’m loving some of the vids coming out of BLM protesters haranguing restaurant patrons who refuse to put their fists in the air. If people don’t see these things for what they are - struggle sessions - then they have their heads in the sand.

In some threads, you argue for a strict definition of socialism where it is essentially a synonym for communism: full state control of the economy, abolishment of private property, etc. and that social programs like social security, Medicare, SNAP, etc. aren't socialist because they don't meet your definition of socialism.
Then in other threads (like above) you say Bernie Sanders is a socialist. Can you tell me what policies Bernie advocates for that meets the definition of socialism you usually use? Or explain your inconsistency?
Bernie Sanders has called himself a socialist for a long time. Is it wrong for me to take him at his word?

Occam’s razor approach to skewering the humorless leftist. Love it!

I thought this was the general election thread and that we (as well as all the RNC speakers including the McCloskeys who’s adventure had nothing to do with economics), were referring to Biden. It was nice to see SD dutifully following the talking point whereas you have been saying it for quite some time. You’re a trendsetter!

I'm not disagreeing that Bernie is a socialist and advocates socialist policies. I was just wondering if he meets your definition of socialist. But, I guess not.

Yep. The blowback is coming. And when it does, its gonna be fucking EPIC.
In fact, it may have started last night in Kenosha & Portland.

I'll admit that based solely on currently proposed policies, I'm making a leap to call Bernie a socialist. I would argue that my leap is significantly less than the leap required to call Trump a Nazi. While Bernie's policy agenda is more about social programs, he calls himself a socialist, he has visited the USSR and expressed admiration for it, his comrades (the Squad, etc.) are extremely critical of capitalism, he and they tacitly support (silence is violence) regimies like Maduro's, etc. I believe that the social welfare programs he advocates for are a step in the direction toward his goal of socialism and that belief is supported by Bernie's own words and the words and actions of his comrades.
What has Trump done by comparison to earn the Nazi label?

Trump has visited Russia and said kind words about it too.
Why do we have to go directly to China without stopping at Denmark?

Russia ≠ USSR
Trump is a whack job who sucks up to dictators and deserves criticism for that. But has he ever actually called himself a nazi, facist or national socialist (or socialist, marxist, etc.)?
Please explain to me how the US is just as bad as Nazi Germany?
You talk about going "go directly to China without stopping at Denmark" but there are people in positions of influence actively advocating for socialism and against capitalism. I struggle to understand attempts to whitewash history and how socialism/marxism is even acceptable.

True. And socialism does not equal nazism either.
Now...what is it you’re trying to nail me with here? It’s tough keeping track.

I'm not trying to nail you with anything. I was responding to Jelly when you jumped in.
No socialism does not equal nazism but where it ends up is similar and just as bad. Are you looking forward to our own Cultural Revolution? The demands of antifa/BLM protesters to property owners bears an eerie similarity to what Stalin did to the kulaks.

Socialism requires authoritarianism and totalitarianism. These are the foundations of Naziism and Communism and every other statist system.

So the feudal lords were socialist? Ok.
Not long ago, memes were circulating about the many good examples of socialism like the police so maybe feudal lords were socialists too.
Of course, now socialists have done a 180 and want to defund the police so maybe not.
I can't keep up.
