Bad Season: losing to Grambling, no matter what the record ends up.
Good Season: Winning at least 8 games, beating Grambling, and winning SWAC (which isn't worth

Under K.C. Keeler, the Hens seem to be kind of an all or nothing team.
Bad season = .500 or below
Good season = solid run at the national championship
Here's hoping our latest installment of a highly touted transfer quarterback doesn't stink this year.

For Portland State...
Bad Season: Falling past Idaho State into the basement of the Big Sky
Good Season: Finishing at .500 in conference.
Great Season: Being playoff eligible.
For as improved as Sacramento State, Northern Colorado, and even Idaho State is this year, we are not that far from having a very disappointing season this year.

Re: What would be a good or bad season for your school?
Sacramento State
Great: 7 wins or more (including a win over uc davis). This would represent huge improvement for the program.
Good: 6 wins (including a win over uc davis). This would represent steady improvement for the program.
Bad: 5 wins or less ( including a loss to uc davis). This would represent little to no improvement from last year, I might even consider it regression for the program.
However Sac State does have a tough schedule.

Re: What would be a good or bad season for your school?
God forbid the fact that we had to win three more games after that. JMU fans really believe they would have walked through the rest of the playoffs after that.JMUpurplehazed wrote:i.e. gift wrapping a playoff game in Boone and handing the NC trophy to App State... I may never get over that
And it isn't gift wrapping. It took a gusty 4th down stop, a 4th down conversion and then a hard-nosed defensive play to pop the ball out.
Plus we would have blocked the FG anyway.
As for the question at hand, I'd be happy with a 9-2 regular season (losses to ECU and one SoCon game). More than likely, that would mean at least two more home games.
But I know the team we have could realistically go 14-1 or 15-0 at the end of it all with three trophies (Jug, SoCon, NCAA).

Winning 1 game.....anything more than that is just gravy. In ODU's case, it will be better to have low expectations and overachieve than have high expectations for a first year program and underachieve. Seriously, all I want is 1 win this year so we can finally say we won a football game in the last 70+ years and I will be happy.

A good 2009 season for Weber will be 8 DI wins. Anything less sill be a bad season.

Harvard has done well enough in recent years that any fewer than 7 wins would be regarded as a failure.

I have seen my share of bad seasons, so its nothing new, but to me, a bad season would be with this Weber State team and its talent, to just have a meltdown season, nothing would be more heartbreaking.
Good season- 3rd place or better finish in the Sky.
Better season- Win the Big Sky host and win a playoff game.
Even better season- Win the Championship.

Re: What would be a good or bad season for your school?
CHENEY, WA. -- Eastern Washington University has officially submitted its intent to appeal the 2009 postseason ban imposed on the EWU football team by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Eastern athletic director Bill Chaves said Eastern is appealing just the postseason ban and not the other penalties -- most of those were self-imposed previously -- that were released by the NCAA on Feb. 11. The NCAA released its findings that day from a two-year review of activities involving the EWU football team from 2003-07.
Chaves said the NCAA will follow-up with the necessary procedures to submit the formal appeal. He said the process of the appeal will take several months, but will know more once EWU hears back from the NCAA.
The NCAA looked into a series of secondary rule violations, which, taken in total, led to a major infractions case. The university originally self-reported the violations to the NCAA in February 2007.
In its report, the NCAA's Committee on Infractions accepted self-imposed measures the university already implemented. Those measures began at the start of the current academic year and will be continually improved and assessed. In addition, the NCAA levied a penalty on the football team which prohibits postseason play during the 2009 football season and placed EWU on three years of probation, from 2009-2012. During the probationary period, EWU will be required to file additional compliance reports with the NCAA.
After the arrival of EWU President Rodolfo Arévalo and Chaves, who came to Eastern in September of 2007, several new monitoring systems and resources for coaches were put in place to reflect Eastern's commitment to properly-managed athletic programs. At the time of the violations, many of those resources were not in place, including checks and balances that may have helped avoid the violations from occurring.

basically its pending.. and i have thought out many possible outcomes.

It's the TXST curse. In 2005 GSU fans got on our forum and talked some really bad smack; tellin' us all about how they were going to wipe up the field with us....touting all their titles and playoff appearances....not so nice at the game either. We win and they fire their coach and haven't been the same since.bobbythekidd wrote:I'm a damn psychic!bobbythekidd wrote:I'm going to say the over/under is 6. 7 wins or more and we have out performed ourselves. 5 wins or less, and we have come up short, and someone's head will be called for on a platter.

Same thing kinda happened to Cal Poly after we beat them on '05 too. (although their fans were great)
(this will only happen if we win/won the game)
Best keep TXST out of the playoffs from now on, I guess. With the guys we are losing it could be another 2-3 years before we make another run at the SLC title anyway.
