Done iteratively, that's how you quell viruses.
We simply need to get to that point.
We could have months ago if people took this seriously.
BTW what plans were the Donks coming up with? Oh right, impeachment ideas.

It was already in the US by 1/31. WHO acknowledged human to human well before that.AZGrizFan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:52 ambullshit. Maybe a few weeks. But "Months"? As late as 1/15 the WHO was still saying it couldn't be transmitted human-to-human. I know you and the rest of the Cultists are in deep denial, but Trump fucked up royally (like he does with pretty much everything), but these are FACTS:
January 22: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it totally under control”!
January 24: Trump on Coronavirus “It will all work out well”!
January 30: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it very well under control, and I think its going to have a very good ending. So that I can assure you”!
February 2: Trump on Coronavirus “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China, but we did shut it down!” No clue whatsoever of the severity of what’s coming.
February 10: On Fox News Trump says without evidence that the coronavirus "dies with the hotter weather” "You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat
February 24: Trump tweeted another baselessly claims: "The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.”
February 25: Trump falsely claims : you may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re ALL getting better! Obviously he doesn’t care for those who died from it. (Like captured soldiers)
February 26: Trump wrongly says the coronavirus "is a flu"
February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is "going very substantially down" to "close to zero”

So you are saying that the impeachment, which was justified, means that Trump couldn't handle more than one thing at once?
Meanwhile, he held a dozen MAGAt rallies, and went golfing another dozen times.
Face it, your Messiah is a disaster. You and the rest are just too stubborn to admit how much you fucked up supporting him.

Trump could be handling this better, but it's far from the disaster people are claiming. Also this whole pandemic is China's fault, and that certainly shouldn't get lost in all the politicizing of this issue.

1. 200 US sailors aboard testing positive for Covid-19
2. En route to Guam
3. Requesting individual isolation for each person for 14 days
4. Guam is tiny and can't house all these sailors. Let alone feed them and provide individual housing of each
5. Some crew (10% will remain on board to sanitize the vessel) sacrificed.
6. This is a nuclear vessel so, further, some must be sacrificed to run and monitor the reactor
7. This scenario is the very definition of not practicing "social distancing". This is as close to nut to butt as you get without liking that kind of thing.
8. How many navies around the world are continuing to spread this
9. This is just one skipper throwing his career away. How many more don't have the balls?
Careful AZ, your privilege is showing.
Re: Coronavirus
Yes, it is China's fault. No one is forgetting, but that can be addressed at the national and the international stage after this is over.
And how is this anything short of a disaster? The world economy is on the brink of collapse, unemployment is quickly rising, people are dying left and right, the projection for US deaths is now at 100,000 to 200,000 people, the medical community is stressed and expected to break in many areas, and we've yet to contain a highly contagious virus.
Are there glimmers of hope? Yes, but this virus has been a complete disaster.

Let the air wings go home...Isolate the 200 who are sick, social distance the rest on the ship with the extra space, and in three weeks it'll be a non-issue. They're a bunch of 20-somethings....it's not a "death penalty".
"Evacuating" the ship is a fucking joke. Did we evacuate ships in the 1700's because of scurvy? That captain should have his fucking command pulled.

Scurvy is a vitamin C deficiency. It isn't an infectious disease that is transmittable between humans.

They want to unload the whole ship in Guam. It's a long ways, but they could send the airwings home via Hawaii with up to 3 wing-mounted fuel drop tanks and tanker support from the AF out of Hawaii....that clears out the entire hangar bay, plus the living spaces occupied by the air wings.bobbythekidd wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:46 am1. They might not have understood if the disease could spread, but they knew what it was and how to treat it. That information has been around since before Christ. The cause was understood so much so that citrus would be planted on islands used as stop overs, quarantines or refueling. Fruits were the obvious go to, but the French used horse meat to remedy the issue. They obviously didn't have the benefit we have of knowing that green vegetables also contain enough levels of C to keep scurvy at bay.

The first clear-cut descriptions of the disorder, however, appear in the records of the medieval Crusades. Later, toward the end of the 15th century, scurvy became the major cause of disability and mortality among sailors on long sea voyages. In 1753 Scottish naval surgeon James Lind showed that scurvy could be cured and prevented by ingestion of the juice of oranges and lemons. Soon citrus fruits became so common aboard ship that British sailors were referred to as “limeys.”

Scurvy has been known since ancient Greek and Egyptian times. It is often associated with sailors in the 15th to 18th centuries, when long sea voyages made it hard to get a steady supply of fresh produce. Many died from the effects.

Temporarily suspending payments across the board (including for banks) wouldn't be the thing that brings them down.
And the answer to your question is yes, I would love that. But this isn't going to be downfall of the current banking system.
