Re: Coronavirus
The only stats that matter are the scoreboard (fatalities), and whether or not the hospitals are swamped (beds/ventilators/ICUs).

Just like big tech tries to do with gun manufacturers so it's fair game. I won't sell any ammo to anyone that I think is a lefty. Keep them victims like they chose to be.

Ask the companies that won't process transactions for firearms companies. The same business owners that willfully turn down purchases on credit cards........ Ask them but what would they know they are just fortune 500.Ibanez wrote:ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:Absolutely happened and it's awesome. I turn down business all the time based on political views. If I do decide to do work for them I charge 40% more (they love taxes) if they are antigun or ignorantly democrat.

This is a tough one. I don't want to see any business discriminate in any way, although consumers do it all the time.Chizzang wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 4:03 pmI'm going to wait right here for Flaggy to post on ^ this...ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 2:41 pm Ask the companies that won't process transactions for firearms companies. There are many examples of situations where I can "understand" the want to discriminate though.
Let's say you open up a bar/restaurant with a certain vision of the type of atmosphere you would like to host. But it's possible it goes completely sideways on you. Maybe it turns out to be like a college-type hangout, or a magnet for the early bird specials, or a biker bar. All of those could limit your business as people outside of those groups might refrain from patronizing. I do realize that you can "steer" the atmosphere to what you desire but that's not 100% guaranteed. And with today's speed of information, your reputation will spread quickly.
I think dress codes are reasonable. I think service can be denied for bad behavior, Dallas Cowboys or Boston Red Sox attire, and fat chicks.

Re: Coronavirus
French may have found hope in an old anti- malarial drug.
https://www.fiercepharma.com/pharma/bay ... ght-report
Chloroquine isn’t approved to treat patients suffering from novel coronavirus infections, but some early studies have shown promise.
In France, for instance, a professor conducted a small study of the malaria drug in 24 patients with novel coronavirus infections. Only 25% of those who received the medicine tested positive for the virus after 6 days, according to en24. Meanwhile, of those who didn't receive it, 90% tested positive after that timeframe. The French government now plans to run larger studies.
In a study published last month in Nature, authors wrote that “chloroquine is a cheap and a safe drug that has been used for more than 70 years and, therefore, it is potentially clinically applicable against the 2019-nCoV.”
While there’s certainly more to learn about the potential therapy, chloroquine is just one of several drugs being explored to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Re: Coronavirus
No smart business owner refuses a customer over politics. They may do it if someone becomes politically belligerent and offensive. In other words, you refuse service for someone being a douchebag. Politics is just a catalyst.CAA Flagship wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 4:43 pmThis is a tough one. I don't want to see any business discriminate in any way, although consumers do it all the time.

The customer is always an asshole. Part of your job is to put up with their bullshit but only to a point. I’ve learned over the years to be much quicker at pulling that trigger and back up my employees 100% on their decision making. We’re good peeps and generally permissive so if you’ve crossed a line, you’ve just talked yourself into that jail.
BTW...dress codes are for self important sucks.
