The Big Sky should go into Saturday's games with:

5 teams with winning records
2 teams at .500
4 teams below .500 (and Montana and Weber State being two of those)

Better than I can remember in a long time.

BSC looks improved this year (ok I'm basing this off of your post, I honestly haven't watched anyone besides Sac State). We'll see how "good" Sac State is this Saturday as we head to 9-2 Santa Clara. The Broncos look like a front court team so it'll test our front court. Long term, our issue will be if our defense breaks down (or we have an injury or 2) we just won't have the scoring to keep pace with a lot of teams.

The Big Sky is currently 14th. in the RPI according to realtimerpi. I don't recall the men ever being that high before.

BSC is holding their own against it's mid-major peers.

Overall record is 47-42, but that includes 19-1 vs Sub D1 competion. (Thanks Montana)
1-14 vs P-5
3-11 vs MWC, WCC and A-10 (Generally, along with the Big East and AAC, only multi-bid conferences)
24-16 vs Mid-Majors (all other DI conferences).
5-1 vs Summit (Thanks for the loss, Idaho)

Big GBB game on tap next TUE:

Ohio State at Sac State, 1905 in the Hornet's Nest.

In all likelihood, this is only possible because on SUN, the Lady Buckeyes are playing at #1 Stanford. Can we keep up with the Big "I Can't Count" League?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Both of those games for OSU were orginally scheduled for last year, but were cancelled due to the fires/smoke.

Yup. I'm surprised they didn't just buy this game out.

Tennessee is doing the same thing. They are playing Stanford, then coming to Portland to play PSU, both before Christmas.

That seems to be more a football and MBB thing, SD. I've seen some weird matchups in my time, like this one. UOP's even had a few like this in WBB. And on a rare occasion, UOP will even get an appearance from Cal and Stanford in Stockton (mostly Cal). Stanford didn't exactly have a choice when the MWP championships were granted to UOP, but they DID win the title over UOP in Stockton. I'm sure we'll see some more like this at Sac, because WBB teams and minor sports teams don't usually do the buy-out thing....

Ridiculous game in Cheney tonight as EWU beat Multnomah 146-89. Mason Peatling broke Willie Humes's single-game Big Sky scoring record with 54 points. Peatling did it in only 24 minutes, too, going 24/30 from the field. He also had 13 rebounds. Kim Aiken added 16 points and 22 rebounds. Justin Martin of Multnomah scored 34 in the loss, but that came on a ridiculous 38 shot attempts.
