Nice presentation of the game BDKJMU, it really highlights the offensive nature of both teams and JMUs advantage on defense. These are 2 really good offenses.

MU RB #25 RB Pete Guerriero (5’10”/190 Jr):
287 carries, 1,888 yds, 6.6 ypc, 22 carries/145 ypg, 17 TDs (Leading rusher in the nation)

JMU Rush Defense: 1st in nation, only giving 62.8 ypg, 6 TDs on the season.
*One of JMU’s starting DTs (the only starting DL not to make All CAA), is suspended the 1st half due to a targeting the 2nd half @ URI).

Something is going to give there..

I think that Monmouth will keep it close, but JMU will ultimately prevail.

A Monmouth win MIGHT make the final easier for Sac if we can get past NDSU, though. While I like the idea of playing schools we rarely see in the playoffs, I'm highly interested in a second shot at BBQ for all the marbles, though....

I hope Monmouth does keep it close their defense is going to have to play lights out obviously this weekend.

Monmouth is the best FCS team James Madison has played all season, but they still aren't good enough to have much of a chance in Harrisonburg. The Hawks' big weakness is pass defense, so I guess we might see the Dukes air it out a bit more than usual. The only other thing I'll say is that I'm surprised the point spread for this one is just as big as the one for the NDSU/Nicholls game.

JMU 38, Monmouth 21 halftime. Wild 1st half. Longest I can ever remember. Guerro has 102 yds on 8 carries. 93 came on 1 carry. :wall:
2nd game in a row JMU has given up a kick return TD.
Monmouth scores 21 in 1st qtr 6 seconds, then squat.
JMU 6 possessions, 5 TDs and 1 FG.
JMU 382 yds offense to 201 for Monmouth.
Dinucci 14 of 18 (1 dropped) 220 yds, 2 TD. 62 yds rushing, 1 TD.
Looks like JMU defense & special teams after 1st qtr pulled their heads out of their asses, & JMU might blow the doors off 2nd half.

JMU puts in backups on offense except OL, still drives length of field & scores TD. 59-21 under 9 min left.

Stats:
Offense
JMU 623 (332 rushing, 291 passing).
Monmouth 266 (93 rushing, 173 passing).
JMU only 10 offensive possessions. Scored 1st 9 (8 TDs, 1 FG). Only the last possession (2nd string OL/3rd string other) didn't score as time expired on the MU 30 yd line. 9th TD was pick 6.

Dinucci was 21 of 25 (84%), 273 yds, 2 TDs/0 INT. 10 carries, 66 yds, 2 TDs. And 1 of the incompletions was flat out dropped.

Guerriero 93 yds on his 1st carry. Finished with 11 carries for 107 yds. MU as a team only 93 yds..
Finished season with 1995 yds.
Watched that 93 yd carry # of times frame by frame. JMU missed a couple fits like they were half awake. Guerriero QUICK cut & acceleration and was GONE. A junior, a track guy but not a YAC guy, so don't know if he'll make it at the next level...
