The thing about Nicholls vs UND:

Not surprised it's a "pick-em".
Neither team has dominated opponents.
  • Nicholls allows .95 pts for every point they score. UND .90
    Nicholls picked-up 4,997 yds and allowed 4,935. UND 3,839/3,681
Nicholls avgd 416 yd/game but gave up 411. UND 390/391
UND can do everything Nicholls does, Nicholls just does more of it. Its a pick-em and I agree on that. If the home field is removed for Nicholls and nothing is rounded it becomes UND 28.96 Nicholls 28.70.

There is no upset against 5 Dimes in a pick-em but The GAM shows Nicholls a 3 point favorite. Don't bet on it because if The GAM were convinced UND could travel the Hawks would be -1.

The GAM employed an intangible: Home field +3. It's that close.

This is how they stack up against the masters at 5 Dimes:

UND @ Nicholls State
  • 5 Dimes: Pick-em; O/U 59.5, N/A
GAM: NS -3; O/U 61; NS 32-29 GAM Board votes to stay away. Too close to call.

    JBB: UND -1; U-55; UND 28-27
    SH: NS -8 O 59.5 ; NS 35-27
SAGARIN: NS -3; O/U NA; NS
We vote something like that. When posted as a score only, the other factors are of course inferred but have to be calculated. It's simple to figure but the GAM Board official score sheet is not in that form. All 3 are required with washes against 5 dimes where no pick is made.

Wofford -39 is laughable. They have put up more than 35 points three times...against 113, 119, and 120th ranked defenses. Kennesaw may have played a horrible schedule but their D really only struggled against teams who can throw the ball which Wofford doesn't. Plus there's the limited possessions between two TO offenses.

My gut feeling picks are:

North Dakota
Illinois State
Albany
Furman
Holy Cross
UNI
Villanova
Kennesaw State

That's just kind of like the first impulse that popped into my mind in each case.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Kennesaw is a puzzle and I look forward to their games for that reason. Many are dismissing them. The GAM says they deserve respect, at least for now.
The mythical score says that they are going to be blown out by Wofford.49-10?????

As stated before I think that Wofford should not be ignored they have a WR who is a TO wannabe listed at 6-3 220.

UND doesnt have the money or the fan base to bid successfully for a first round game. They cant afford it but insist on first class treatment at other schools. Its a riot of laughs and a perfect example of the und attitude.

What a joke. I don't care who you are, or who you are playing, this is pathetic. If your renovations aren't complete until 2020, then don't host a playoff game until 2020. The team doesn't need cushy or comfort, but this is just stupid.
You're not champions, why expect to be treated like a champion?

Honestly, file the protest now.

Those facilities do not allow privacy for in-game adjustments and game planning ... unless they make sound-proof tent walls down south.
Yes, make a lawsuit out of it, not a game.

The tents are a disgrace to FCS. They should have not been able to bid or had their bid rejected. The game should be played in Grand Forks.

Who said your bid was substantial????

You got outbid by a tent and portable crappers.

:D
Which of course if the truth. The tents will be replaced by a new athletic facility next year.
UND's bid to host the first round of the FCS playoffs was $75,003.75, the Herald learned through record request.
LOL. They have what they deserve. As last team in I have to think their spot is a gift. EWU has had the break in the past. It's UND's turn. They are starting at the bottom, where they have been for some time.

LOL. What fun the playoffs are.

Unfortunately there is no decision on any propositions at 5 Dimes. Its the juice that's killing the action. I have a feeling GAM Labs isn't the only group doing well. However, discussions are on-going.

TWITTER VERSION:
This tent thing is a riot.
FULL VERSION:

Apparently their new facilities have been under construction disrupting operations for over a year. USD used the tents last year. All opposing teams use the tents.

The reported UND bid of $75,003.75 is peanuts. That looks like an old NDSU D2 bid. They can't count on the fans to recover the bid money which was $6/seat. Even with an average crowd it would have been $9.50/seat. That was too much risk for the UND administration and they effectively passed with what I believe is a weak bid.

Apparently the bid is the ultimate. All other factors would be considered tie-breakers if the bids were equal. If the bids had been equal UND does have the superior facilities.

I found EWU’s visitor facilities to be quite charming when I inspected them in 2010.

But the martinis they served in the press box were even better! I could barely see the field from the replay booth by the end of the game, lol!

We know!

TWITTER VERSION:
NICHOLLS BIDS $85 - $90,000.
Full Version from SiouxSports:
https://www.houmatoday.com/news/2019112 ... ate=ampart

"Athletic Director Matt Roan confirmed to the Courier and Daily Comet prior to the selection show that Nicholls did submit a bid to host multiple rounds, similar to the bid they placed — and won with — last season. Nicholls offered a winning bid of $80,000 in guaranteed money to the NCAA in 2018, and while he did not give a specific number, Roan said this year's bid was slightly more competitive but in the same range."

So I guess you can assume that Nicholls bid was at least 80K. Maybe 85K-90K. We will find out I guess.

  • Kennesaw State over Wofford 100 gets 190
San Diego over UNI 100 gets 320
Cent Con over Albany 100 gets 190

D2 and D3 playoffs are posted at college extra on 5 dimes. Did not see NDSUs old rival Pittsburgh State in the field but NWMSU was there. Future MVFC members Augustana SD and St. Thomas weren't in either.

D3 does have some impressive spreads:
  • Wheaton -37 over Cent Iowa
Mary Hardin Baylor -30.5 over Huntingdon
    Muhlenberg 25.5 over Brockport
Might run them through the GAM but everything is juiced 20 so we wont.
