Hornet D looked tenacious against rivertucky last night. A few scoring droughts on our end though. Also hated how we turtled on offense the last 5-6 minutes of the game and let this thing get a lot closer than it should have been.

Well, not if you're a Montana Tech fan. They seemed to make a three just about every time they needed one.Vidav wrote:I was at the game. So embarrassing all around. Just wow.Mvemjsunpx wrote:So, the 2-time defending Big Sky champs just lost to Montana Tech. So, um… yeah…
I figured the Griz would be down this year—they just lost too many players—but I didn't think they would be "lose to Montana Tech" down.

Re: Big Sky Basketball, 2019-20
I will admit I don't watch a lot of basketball so I am not a great judge of a game but what I saw: Griz were missing a ton of baskets, even easy layups etc. Defense was simply not there, as you said Tech were dropping threes like crazy. Also the fouls tonight, especially in the second half, were insane. I think both teams had 10+ team fouls at 13 minutes left or something close.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Well, not if you're a Montana Tech fan. They miss Rorie & Oguine's rim-finishing skills. I can’t say this in eGriz because there’s a culture of protection over there...but Carter-Hollinger looks SLOW. And he looked slow in his highlight videos when we were recruiting him. There’s a reason this 6’8” dude isn’t paying for Duke or Kansas or even Texas Tech.Mvemjsunpx wrote:They miss Rorie & Oguine's rim-finishing skills. He's 6'5" according to the roster. Pridgett is also listed as 6'5", though, and he looks smaller than DCH.AZGrizFan wrote:I can’t say this in eGriz because there’s a culture of protection over there...but Carter-Hollinger looks SLOW. Dude, what are you talking about? Clearly you know nothing about basketball. I was at the game (like I am EVERY game) and Hollinger is quick as lightning. The Griz were clearly not thrilled about playing an NAIA team, and it showed. The young Griz will go undefeated in the Big Sky. I know, I am with the players all the time.
