Updated CAA Standings
1. JMU 8-1/5-0
2. UNH 5-3/4-1 (only 11 games) (@ JMU, @ Albany, Maine)
-- RU 5-4/4-1 (@VU, @ JMU, W&M)
4. Albany 5-4/3-2 (@ UD, UNH, @ SBU)
5. VU 6-3/3-3 (RU, Long Island, UD)
-- Elon 4-5/3-3 (only 11 games)
7. SBU 5-4/2-3 (TU, @ UD, Albany)
-- TU 5-4/2-3 (@SBU, @ W&M, Elon)
-- UD 4-5/2-3 (Albany, SBU, @VU)
— Maine 4-5/2-3 (@ Elon, URI, @ UNH)
11. W&M 3-6/1-4
12. URI 2-7/0-5

What a shitshow in the CAA. It seems like 3/4 of the conference will finish 5 to 7 wins. Think the minimum threshhold get an At Large bid out of the CAA will be 7 wins, 5-3 CAA. If so:
In: JMU.
Must win 2 out of 3: UNH, RU, Albany.
Must win out: VU, SBU, TU, UD, Maine
Eliminated: Elon, W&M, URI.

I said yesterday on the JMU board I saw 3 CAA teams, MAYBE 4 getting in: JMU, VU, SBU.
Now I'll go 4: JMU, VU, winner TU @ SBU next week, winner Maine @ UNH Week 13.

SoCon is a mess. The Citadel is still in the hunt along with half the conference. I think only WCU, ETSU, VMI and Mercer are eliminated at this point.

If we beat Chatty and Wofford we should get the at large. If we get some help from somebody with Furman we could still get the autobid

Yet again beating each other up so that get likely get just one at large

Several conferences are a shit show. OVC could end up with a four way tie with a bunch of 8-4 teams if my math is correct. Who knows what happens there??

FAMU could end up screwing the MEAC out of a bid. They are ineligible for post-season so if they win the conference second place B-CC or NCAT would go to MEAC/SWAC game and would the committee really take a third place team?

My October guess for the 24 with a reservation to revisit in a couple weeks...

Obviously going to be some shakeup.
11/9 #10 @ #2

11/16
#3 @ #8
#6 @ #4

If #5-#10 lose, with the exception of Montana, none of them will get a Top 8 seed, as no 4 loss team, or a 3 loss UCA, will get a seed, I don't care who they played.

And yet three losses still. You certainly can't call them overachievers.

UNH is barely a top 20 team. Somebody on the committee really, really likes them.

Told you this year was going to be an ugly W-L total for the field.

IMO there is just a huge chasm between top 4 and the rest of the field. I'd actually be OK with a I-A four team format this year. The rest are just so mediocre.

Yeah, four teams would be plenty this year. Or just go back to 16 every year and you're WAY more than covered.

The Top 25 polls are garbage though. Number of examples of a team with an equal or better record to a team tbey beat, yet ranked below. UNH beat VU, UNH has a better record (vs I—AA), 4-1 CAA vs 3-3 for VU, yet VU ranked above. Retarded.

After the comittee’s 1st 9, there’s a number of teams you could put in 10th.

16 would be fine this yr:
-10 AQ
-2 At large MVFC
-2 At large Big Sky
-1 maybe at large CAA (if UNH, SBU, VU, or TU won out).
-1 at large from somewhere else.

At least when it was 16 we were arguing about decent teams for that last spot and some years there was a serious debate (Woofed). Now it's a joke arguing between 7-5 teams. :ohno:
