Re: Week 8 Score Thread
Marcus Williams gets a 22-yard TD catch to win it for the Rattlers. FAMU wins 34-31 in OT.
So now, a team on a postseason ban is in the driver's seat in the MEAC.

It was the second victory of the year for TSU and it was against ranked squad.Mvemjsunpx wrote:TSU upsets Austin Peay 26-24

Florida A&M outlasted national power North Carolina A&T in overtime 34-31 and survived a scuffle between both teams at halftime.Aggies star DB Mac McCain was ejected. This game was played on Sunday due to concerns of a hurricane.

I want to see what they (The Ivy League) would do against non-conference competition in the FCS playoffs.

I think the Ivy teams would like to see that, too, but it doesn't seem like the Ivy presidents will be allowing that anytime soon.dal4018 wrote:I want to see what they (The Ivy League) would do against non-conference competition in the FCS playoffs.

Re: Week 8 Score Thread
Again there was a halftime scuffle between the teams and some of the coaches as stated before Aggies star DB Mac McCain was ejected and that definitely hurt the chances of A&T pulling out a victory. How far will the Aggies fall in the FCS rankings after this loss they are currently ranked 10th.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Marcus Williams gets a 22-yard TD catch to win it for the Rattlers. Princeton is undefeated 4-0 and ranked 17th. again I wish that I could get a chance to see them in the postseason but due to the fact that the Ivy League is not playoff eligible we obviously will never know. They have the steal of all recruits when they signed QB Joseph Hutchinson he at 6-6 200 has obvious NFL size.If he was at North Dakota St I would pencil them in for a 4 yr sweep for the FCS TITLE and he could be the first player in school history to be a HEISMAN CANDIDATE and the first small school guy since the late Steve McNair from Alcorn St.Ivytalk wrote:In Ivy news, Princeton routs Brown 65-22, Harvard beats Holy Cross 31-21, and Columbia is thrashing Penn 44-0 in 4Q

It sounded like it was multiple infractions, including that FAMU was certifying academic eligibility for athletes without having the grade info to back it up. They also apparently allowed someone to compete after they exhausted their eligibility.dal4018 wrote:This postseason ban I wonder what is the reason?????Mvemjsunpx wrote:Marcus Williams gets a 22-yard TD catch to win it for the Rattlers. Since we have to live vicariously through you now, please do what no one else does and actually show up against NDSU in the playoffs. Probably won't happen, but we have to dream.SDHornet wrote:Montana never had defense this year.Vidav wrote:

Total beatdown issued by the Hornets, that Hornet D punished Sneed. That's going to be a long covered wagon ride back to Missoula for the griz.

Or, perhaps—pipe dream time—NDSU will forget to show up in one conference game and Sac can end up getting the Bison at home.Silenoz wrote:Since we have to live vicariously through you now, please do what no one else does and actually show up against NDSU in the playoffs. Long way to go until Hornet fans can talk playoffs. One week at a time, but it has been thoroughly enjoyable up to this point.

The athletes were ineligible in multiple sports as you said. The penalties were self imposed.Mvemjsunpx wrote:It sounded like it was multiple infractions, including that FAMU was certifying academic eligibility for athletes without having the grade info to back it up. The Grizz got smoked I always thought that Montana was the standard for everyone else to follow before North Dakota St came along.SDHornet wrote:Silenoz wrote: Since we have to live vicariously through you now, please do what no one else does and actually show up against NDSU in the playoffs. Re: Week 8 Score Thread
Venus is exactly right here. Their "logic" in this makes absolutely no sense given the fact that they allow their hoops teams and track teams to take part in the post-season. Do they see their football players as somehow "too dumb" to pass their finals while taking part in the playoffs? Given the rigorous entrance requirements, that seems unlikely to me. Let them play....Mvemjsunpx wrote:I think the Ivy teams would like to see that, too, but it doesn't seem like the Ivy presidents will be allowing that anytime soon.dal4018 wrote:I want to see what they (The Ivy League) would do against non-conference competition in the FCS playoffs.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
