That was actually the opposite impression I got from their season opener against the Griz. They have talent—at least on offense—but some of their coaching decisions in that game were questionable. USD kept crashing the run with their front-7 even though they were getting picked apart through the air. They also went for it on fourth down twice when they shouldn't have: they got lucky and scored on 4th. & 4 from the 9, but they later went for it on 4th. & 6 from the 7 when there was still nearly a full quarter left (Simmons was stuffed).
