Every single one of these teams has a great offense. The GAM has all of them under 1 on the offense power index. The smaller the better. The difference is defense.

All of these teams are good on defense but none of them are NDSU good. The GAM power index has NDSU well ahead of all of them.

The curious thing emerging is the fact the rest of the FCS has always been good and still is. All of the great teams have excellent power rankings. Its just that none of them are as good as NDSU.

The Bison have a power ranking of .5066. The lower the better. This kind of number means great on both sides of the ball. The rest of the top five have power ranking numbers between .60000 - .72000.

Its been this way for several years. The FCS is not weaker or down. Some teams are just up. In a class by themselves. SDSU @ .5546 is another elite. Funny thing about SDSU they are last in passing in the MVFC but second in rushing behind NDSU. SDSU has turned into a running school.

Another surprise leader in the MVFC this week is USD with the #1 passing offense followed directly by MSU and WIU, teams that aren't faring well otherwise.

NDSU is +5 against the Ducks this week. The Ducks power ratio is .4909! NDSU has a nice advantage on offense but on the defensive side the Ducks more than make up for it giving them the 5 point advantage.

Just a shame about UND. Idaho routes them 55-20. They were really excited up there too. Last weeks win vs UCD, one of their biggest since moving up 10 years ago, really had them riding high, in the play offs and of course on to Fargo to defeat the mighty Bison. Their 15 year old dream will have to wait for another year.

NDSU takes the overall lead in the series that UNI has held since 1940

SDSU is getting upset by a YSU 21-9 in the third. The Jacks are driving. Should they lose it will be NDSU & USD sharing the lead in the MVFC 2-0. The Coyotes are impressive right now. Either way they are right in there.

Jacks score, now trailing 21-16. Should be a fun fourth qtr

In the end the Jacks put this away with a solid 4th Qtr.

UND football is running on empty. They arrived in Pocatello at 11pm Friday night. Couldn’t afford to bring the team in 24 hours in front of kickoff. What a disaster their D1 move up has been. A complete cluster of wipe outs, blow outs and chokes.

The funniest thing is their “experts” have been bragging about their recruits and predicting how good they will be every year. WRONG! Remember they are staying in town and lifting all summer too. Going to be mean and kick some ass! Then, I think they are moving to FBS and taking the Big Sky with them. getting kicked out was only a ploy to disguise the move, according to one of their experts Sioux volley.

UND home of the moral victory and quality loss!

Here’s to their 15 years of failure, may it continue unabated. I can’t think of any program more deserving.

Unless their program somehow fades the Bison no longer fit in the FCS. There is good football being played in the FCS, as good as ever, but NDSU is geared for a higher level of competition. Right now they are legit 5 point underdogs to Oregon and there is nobody in the FCS close to them.

From Bisonville the road map to the FBS:

Step 1: apply for waiver to go independent in FBS football (receive waiver or sue); remain in Summit for other sports
Step 2: schedule all the other independents looking for opponents (they amount to practically a conference already)
Step 3: build FBS resume kicking everyone's ass
Step 4: tell MWC to pound sand when they finally invite; accept B12 invite instead

I wanted to do this when NDSU was still D2 playing in the brand new Fabulous Fargo Dome.

They would need a transition period. The facilities aren't ready yet. SDSU could do it now.
