Can you imagine how many negroes there would be if legal abortions had not been available for the last forty-five years?

I can say without hesitation that the world would be a better place if you had been aborted.

I was making the link between abortion and the idea of Eugenics are both methods used to control populations, specifically to weed out undesirables and maintain "good stock".

Not to mention that the Nazis, including Mengele, often cited Sanger and more specifically California's eugenics programs as justification for theirs.

So the means are important when the ends are the same?

If I’m the kind of guy who supports black population control and I get my way via abortion by people who support it via women’s rights.... and we wind up with the same result through different justifications...

Does that make us different or the same?

Sad story.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jennifer-i ... vestibule/
A pregnant woman was stabbed to death in the entryway of her Ridgewood, Queens apartment building early Sunday morning. Hours later, the NYPD was narrowing in on a suspect, CBS New York reported.

A candle burned outside the apartment building where 35-year-old real estate agent Jennifer Irigoyen was savagely stabbed to death. Police said her unborn child did not survive.
Strange to word it that way with NY pushing to end limits to late term abortions AND not having fetal homicide laws that would charge the perp with double murder.

You always try your damnedest to equate it to murder.

So, I'll just assume that if abortion were to be illegal, you'd want women who have abortions tried tried with premeditated murder. Thanks for finally answering. :thumb:
I would because they are killing a baby. If you want it your way you need to get rid of double homicide when a person kills a pregnant woman. Half of its just an abortion, the person should make $1000 for doing it

Not surprisingly, the boyfriend apparently did it. Total crock he won’t be charged with double murder, esp if his reason for murdering her was to kill the baby..

JJ's got it right here. From a purely science perspective, human life starts at conception. Whether we decide to protect it there or not, that doesn't change the truth of that reality.

Today's laws that permit abortion basically put legal abortion around the first trimester, which just happens to be where medical science today can take a human life out of the womb and still have it survive, with assistance. When medical science improves, as it always does, and that threshold of when a human life can be removed from the womb and still survive gets closer and closer to conception, we'll have to deal with that reality. But there's no denying the fact that, from a scientific perspective, human life begins at conception.

I just want to see people stop tying themselves up in knots lying and talking around things they are uncomfortable with.

Setting actual threats to the health of the mother aside (because that's a no brainer)

If the pro-abortion crowd in this particular debate over the VA bill would just acknowledge that they place the feelings of a woman above the life of an infant at the 9th month of gestation.... you'd hear nary a peep out of me

Because let's face it - that language about how the fetus can be aborted right up until (and after) birth based on the mental health of the mother... as adjudicated by one doctor... that is fancy talk for the mother saying "I don't want this baby" while she's giving birth .... And then its off to the ol dirt nap for Junior

Just call it the homicide that it is. It bears zero resemblance to the argument over whether or not a fetus younger than 28 weeks of gestation should be aborted and the two should not be conflated. One is at the top of the slippery slope and the other is barreling across the finish line at the bottom

I thought you were talking about the moral debate over abortion - high horses and all that

I didn’t think you acknowledged it as a moral debate

You scoff at people who do, claiming that we shouldn’t “make criminals out of women”... that’s not a moral concern. .. or maybe it is just in relative terms

You tend to stay away from the killing side of the debate though... does that make it easier to call others out on what you see as faux moral outrage?

Maybe we should all just embrace our inner nihilists ... all of us who either don’t oppose abortion, or actively support it. I’ve been trying to point out the difference in those two, in a roundabout klammy way- and frankly I expected to rope in klam or Joe or maybe even Treep. I figured you’d see it, though

Shouldn’t we be able to kill infants right up to the moment of birth, or maybe even a little after?

CID everything with two opposing views can be turned into a moral debate
and in so... somebody has to take the high ground and argue from that position
